A Day In the Life of... (Countryhumans)

Fire Hazard pt. 1

Chapter 1: The Incident

It all started as any other normal day for the North American countries, Canada (Nada), America (Ame), and Mexico. Earlier in the week at the last World Meeting, the three decided to meet up to discuss a possible joint alliance. They wanted to talk about unification into a single country.

To give some background information, Ame and Nada were staying at the English Household due to a family reunion and get-together hosted by Great Britain, more commonly known as, Britain and France. America's other brothers Australia and New Zealand attended as well as the countries that created the United Kingdom (UK). On the other hand, Mexico lives with Spain and Latin American countries.

Anyway, let's move on, shall we? On the morning of that fateful Friday, America and Canada woke up to prepare for the day and the coming meeting. After changing into appropriate attire for the day, they left their rooms and made their way to the kitchen for breakfast. Nada arrived first and started to make pancakes when Ame appeared.

"Good morning, America," says Canada. "Sup" responds America in a tired tone. "Would you like some pancakes or something else?" asks Nada to the not-fully-awake Ame. "Pancakes are fine as long as you don't drown them in maple syrup like you normally do," replies the older brother. "Hey!" defends Nada, trying to justify himself. "I don't drown them; I add a normal amount."

"Dude, last week you dumped an entire bottle on TWO 'cakes. AN ENTIRE BOTTLE!!" exclaims America. "Ok, ok, sorry," Canada admits, defeated. "Anyway, are you ready for today's meeting?" asks Nada to which Ame responds, "Oh shit, that's today?"

Canada deadpans at his brother's forgetfulness. "Bro, you were the one to suggest today at the World Meeting. How could you forget?"

"It's just-I-uh, shut up Canada," America retaliates. Nada raised an eyebrow in amusement, "okay..." After the little squabble, the brothers ate their breakfast and got ready to leave. They made sure to grab the necessary documents and notes.

"Where are you boys headed off to?" asks their father, Britain. America responds with, "If you were at the last World Meeting, like Father (France), you would know, old man." Canada smacked Ame upside the head while saying, "Brother, be nice and apologize." Ame let out an exasperated and exaggerated sigh.

"Fine, I'm sorry for calling you an old man," He said sarcastically. "Even if you are old," Ame muttered under his breath. "Sorry about him, dad, but to answer your question, we are meeting with Mexico about a possible unification," Canada informed Britain.

"Ah well, good luck, son. America, try not to cause trouble," scolds their dad. "Yeah, yeah, I know," Ame replies, not really paying attention. "Alright, we don't want to be late. C'mon brother, let's go!"

In the Spanish and Latin American house, the morning went a lot smoother. Mexico was able to get ready, make breakfast and leave without much trouble. Forgetting the documents he needed, Mexico ran back into the house and scrambled around the house to find them, of which Spain groaned and took pity on the disorganized country, they both searched for the misplaced files. Eventually, Spain found them, handed them to Mexico, and chided him on his haphazard behavior. Telling him to be careful next time. Apart from the small incident, Mexico's morning was very different compared to the other North American countries.

As he began walking, he sent a text message to Canada, suggesting they meet at Applebee's to which Nada responded with, a quick 'sounds good'. The image of America being upset that they won't be meeting at McDonald's was amusing. Mexico, imagining the opposition from the capitalist country, gave a small chuckle.

Mexico arrived first at Applebee's and waited for the other two by surfing the internet for memes and checking social media. Eventually, the two others arrived and were seated with the Spanish-speaking country.
