Johnny didn't mean to forget about Ali's birthday.
And he didn't mean too set fireworks off at school.
He also didn't mean to get drunk and get in a fight.
He didn't mean to do a lot of things.
But yet he always seemed to do things he later regretted. Especially with you.
You and Johnny had met in the middle of your senior year. You were friends with one of his friends,Tommy, and you eventually started tagging along with their group. It didn't take long for Johnny to start subtly flirting with you.
You had just gone through a bad breakup. So you denied his antics at first. But after a night at the beach, you weren't sure what had happened, but there you were, kissing him in the back of his firebird. And the rest was history.
You had been with him for a few months. Off and on. You were really stubborn. And yours and Johnny's personalities really clashed. But somehow, you guys thought you were perfect for eachother. The two of you had even planned your future together.
It only took one incident though, for all of that to fall apart. Johnny and his friends had Invited you over to his house. It was only the 6 of you. Johnny, Bobby, Tommy, Dutch, Jimmy, and you. And a few of their girlfriends came as well. So it wasn't anything huge.
"Hey guys. I know what can make this party better." Johnny said, letting go of you as he stood up. "Who wants drinks?"
The only two that really seemed to be into the idea, were tommy and dutch, and obviously Johnny. And despite the annoyed look on Jimmy's face, and the look of disapproval on Bobby's, Johnny went down to his parents alcohol cellar and grabbed a variety of drinks before coming upstairs, placing them on the table.
"I think I'm gonna go.." you said quietly, hoping you could sneak out without being noticed. Not only did you not wanna take care of your boyfriend while he was drunk, but you also just didn't feel comfortable drinking, and he knew that.
"Aw, Cmon Y/N. Don't be like that. Learn to lighten up a little. Have some fun." Johnny said, tightly wrapping his arm around your shoulder, basically making it impossible for you to leave.
"Let go of me, Johnny. Please. You guys can have fun without me. It'll be fine. I'll see you tomorrow." You said, wiggling out of his grasp.
Once he let go of you, you kissed his cheek and made your way over to grab your stuff.
Dutch rolled his eyes. "Let her go, man. She'll ruin our fun." He said, opening one of the stronger bottles before pouring himself a glass.
Johnny looked over at you. "Wait, I won't drink. If you promise you stay." He said
A small smile appeared on your face. Maybe he actually did care about your feelings and your boundaries.
"Alright. Fine. I'll stay." You said, taking your jacket back off, before going and sitting down on the couch, but still kept a fair distance between you and him.
"Great." Johnny said with a smirk. "Now we can do what we really came here for." He said, signaling to tommy.
Tommy got up and grabbed a piece of paper, ripping it up before writing each of your names down on it, and put them all in a bowl.
You weren't an idiot, and from what he was doing, you already knew what they had in mind. They were gonna play 7 minutes in heaven.
Johnny smirked and clapped his hands together. "I better get, Y/N." He said, almost as if ir were somehow guaranteed to happen.
The two of you had never crossed that line before. Sure, you had kissed, and sometimes it did get a little heated, and a little touchy. But you always stopped it before things went too far. Now though, you knew what he was planning and you knew he had the perfect opportunity to get you to do it.
"Alright. Who's going first?" Tommy grabbed the bowl and brought it over to jimmy. "Whoever's name you choose, you have to go into the closet with."
Jimmy reached his hand in, and looked at the paper. "Y/N" He said, glancing over at Johnny to gauge how he was going to react.
Johnny made eye contact with jimmy. "You better switch with me" he said
Bobby stood up. "Sorry. That's not how the game works. Jimmy. Y/N. Let's go." He said, knowing you going with jimmy was a lot better then you ending up alone with a drunk Johnny.
You walked into the closet, heading the door shut behind you.Jimmy looked around for a light, before flipping the switch on.
"Hey. I'm sorry. None of this was my idea. It was just Johnny and Dutch being stupid teenage boys. He thought he'd be able to impress you enough to be able to finally move things forward with you. He wouldn't force you, but he is trying to highly encourage you."
He kept his voice quiet, because he knew everyone was most likely standing outside the door, listening into what they were saying.
You swallowed, taking a deep breath before answering. "Why is he such an idiot sometimes? I love him, but then he has to go and do things like this."
Jimmy sighed. "Honestly, I don't know. I'm sorry. I wish I knew what went on inside of his head sometimes. I don't think he has that off switch to tell him when he's making an idiotic decision."
You chuckled a little. That was probably the most true statement you have ever heard.
"Hey, I know we're not gonna do anything. But when the seven minutes are up, can we be kissing? As if we were actually doing something?" You asked.
A shocked expression appeared on Jimmy's face. That was probably the last thing he expected you to ask for.
"Why? I know you don't like me or don't wanna be with me." He stated
You sighed, knowing you had to be honest or it wasn't gonna work. "I just wanna get back at Johnny. If he's gonna be stupid and try to get me to sleep with him, then I'm gonna give him what he deserves."
It was logical. Jimmy had to admit that. And it was definitely a good way to get back at him. Plus, his friend was an idiot sometimes.
"You know what? Fine. I'll do it. But you owe me one." He said, a slight grin pulling at his lips.
You checked your watch. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Y/N said with a smile.
At the last second, you threw your arms around his neck, pulling him into a deep kiss, and not even a full second after that, the door swung open, Johnny standing right behind it.
Both you and Jimmy pretended to pull away, looking all flustered.
"S-sorry." You muttered as you walked past Johnny.
"What was going on in there?" He asked, a hurt look on his face.
Seeing that almost immediately made you regret your decision. But you had to remember why you had done it in the first place.
"Nothing. It was just a simple kiss. That's not bad, right? It's not like what you had in mind to do with me." You stated simply, going over and grabbing your things for the second time.
The room was silent. Everyone knew what you just said was true.
"Ill see you at school tomorrow. Thanks for having me over." You said, as nonchalant as possible.
And with that, you walked out the door, back to your car.
Now, Johnny knew he made mistakes. He just didn't realize how bad they were until it was too late.
