Olivia Servopoulos was no stranger to death. At this point in her life, she had grown to expect the end, even if it terrified her to even think about losing the people she cared about. But death doesn't wait for you to be ready when it rips away parts of your soul. So slowly over time, Olivia had begun to learn not to get too close to anyone.

She didn't remember much from her childhood, including her parents. They'd become small fragments of a shattered mirror in her head. She was raised primarily by her brother. The two had been left with their Aunt Tess not long after their father had passed, their mother using some excuse about her work with the Fireflies and that it wasn't safe for the siblings to leave the QZ. That was the last time she had ever seen her mother.

Dick and her were left to fend for themselves with their aunt struggling to help the two survive. Her aunt loved the two more than anything, and when the increasing war between the Firelies and FEDRA in the Boston QZ became too dangerous she sought to move the siblings to a safe location. Primarily because both herself and her partner Joel had big targets on their backs with them being smugglers. So she moved the kids outside of the QZ to her close friends Frank's, it took some convincing for Bill to allow the two teens to stay with them however with Frank's approval her came around.

That was almost a year ago now. Within that time the two had grown closer to the two old men they shared a residence with, and the siblings offered to help wherever they could to earn their keep. They would often go on supply runs to local small towns in search for any useful items, including medicine for Frank's growing illnesses.

The pair had arrived back from a scavenging mission when they had found Joel with a young girl, bringing news that both Bill and Frank had passed in their time away. Along with the news that their beloved aunt had been bitten by an infected on their way to deliver the girl to the Fireflies.
