I sat in Ney'tiri's pod listening to her rant about how stressful fitting into this new environment was. I couldn't help but agree with her, truly. Everything about this place was absolutely breathtaking just as it was discriminating. The people's endless judgmental stares, the things they'd say, thinking we wouldn't hear A danm thing. I wanted to do something but my actions would take affect on my family as well.
"Eko, you know how to express your feelings better than I do, what should I say to Tsahik?" I thought carefully. The woman in control of this place had A tough wall built around her, she had A circle: her family, and she didn't let others in, I could tell.
"Sister, there is not much you can say without upsetting her so its best if you smooth it to her."
"Well how do I "smooth it to her?" Ney'tiri rolled her eyes, folding her arms over her chest. My sister has always gotten annoyed easy, I of all people should know by now.
"I don't know, just keep your tone kind." She rolled her eyes another, stomping her foot.
"You're no help, brother." She left the pod, leaving me laughing at her mini tantrum. She's alot like her young self then others think. She's mature, yes, but she's still overcome by anger and frustrations for the simplest things.
I got up from the cushion I sat on, looking around for no one in particular but when I seen Lo'ak and the Cheif's daughter swimming around, laughing, I couldn't help but want to tease.
"Lo'ak, I never knew you were so good at catching fish." I laughed at my own joke, earning A glare from Lo'ak and A confused look from Tsireya. Lo'ak pulled the girl away while atill giving me a warning stare.
"Some people just can't take a joke." I crossed my arms, turning around to walk back to my pod where I hopped my family were at.
I moved the hanging beads, stepping inside to see Tsu'tey sharpening his knife. He looked frustrated, well, that was until he seen me.
"Flower." He stood up, hugging me tight. His fingers threaded through my shoulder length black hair, ruffling the white feather that I held onto all these years. I liked to think that mom gave this to me as a gift all those years ago, so ill hold onto it with all I have.
I pressed my hand, softly, against the bullet wound he'd received during the war. It had scared over , completely sealing up the wound which I was thankful for. For if I were not there to catch him, who knows what would have happened.
"Where have you been?" He lead me towards the spot he sat on, moving me to sit on the cushion while he sat on the hard floor in front of me.
"I was with Ney'tiri." I looked towards the knife he'd disregarded on the tabke, "My love, I know that nothing I'll say will change your mind about this place but please, at least try and speak with the people."
"Im civilized, so, I will." I squinted my eyes at the claim, jerking back a little bit to get a good look at him.
"Tsu'tey, please don't lie to your husband."
"What would I be lying about?" He looked genuinely confused.
"You're not civilized, at all." He light heartedly glared at me, trying to hold back his smile. He picked me up by my arm pits, leaving me dangling in the air. I kicked my legs, trying to hit his stomach but he only moved.
"Put me down! Now." He laughed at me, shaking his head. I grabbed onto the beads in his hair, pulling on them.
"Why would you do that." He stared up.at me, annoyance radiating off of him.
Out of all the people, he gets mad at me for being stupid but when Lo'ak goes to be stupid, he tells him what he could have done better. They're both stupid.
"Because I know how much you like it. Just because you tell me not to doesn't mean you don't want me to." His expression was unreasonable, but I knew those eyes far too well to just smooth past it.
"Oh? Is that right?" He sat me down, his hands moving towards my hips in an instant. I moved closer to him, pressing our bodies close with A toothy smile.
"Yeah." My hands reached up to his jaw, my fingers threading through the countless braids on his head. His hand moved under my loin cloth, fondling with my ass.
"Ahem.." At an instant, I looked behind to see Nakana and Neteyam standing there, awkwardly shuffling their feet.
"Oh-" I let go of Tsu'tey, my own hand rubbing my neck as I made a distance between the both of us, "Was there something you two needed."
"Theres getting ready to be a gathering of sorts, and we wanted to tell you about it." Neteyam sounded unsure, afraid as he spoke. He was probably traumatized from the scenery he'd just witnessed.
"Okay, we'll be there." Just as I said that, Nakana ran off, as well as Neteyam. They sounded like they were ready to cry.
"Well shit."
"Watch your demon tongue, flower."
