A Chance

Note: This story is set in a timeline where Duncan and Gwen didn't get together, although Duncan did cheat on Courtney with a delinquent.

Gwen and Courtney were sitting on the beach, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. They had been friends for a long time, but Gwen couldn't help but wonder if there was something more between them.

Gwen had feelings for Courtney ever since World Tour, she just never mentioned it to anyone. She thought about telling her during the London episode, but after finding Duncan and him being back on the show, it felt wrong.

And although Courtney had developed feelings for Gwen, she was unsure. On one hand, she really liked the goth. On the other hand, she had separated from Duncan not too long ago, and felt somewhat uneasy about getting into a relationship.

But now, both of them are single. This was probably the best time they had to discuss their feelings.

"Hey Court, can I ask you something?" Gwen said, hesitantly.

"Of course, what's up?" Courtney replied, as she started to face the goth girl.

"Uhm, have you ever thought about being with a girl?" Gwen asked, her heart racing.

Courtney thought for a moment, with a slight blush coming to her cheeks. "Well, there was one time when I was in college," she said, recalling the memory. "But besides that, not really."

"Oh." Gwen muttered to herself, quiet enough so the former CIT didn't hear.

However, Gwen felt relieved that she wasn't the only one who had considered it. "I've thought about it too," she admitted, her cheeks turning pink.

Courtney looked at Gwen, surprised. "Really?" she asked.

Gwen nodded. "Yeah, and" she paused, unsure if she should continue. "I was thinking, uh, maybe we could try dating each other," she suggested, nervously. "I mean, it wouldn't hurt, right?"

Courtney's eyes widened, seeming skeptical about the idea. "I don't know, Gwen. We've been friends for so long. What if it doesn't work out? What if we aren't friends after that?" she said, uncertainly.

Gwen understood her hesitation, but she couldn't ignore the feelings she had for Courtney. She took her hand, put it to Courtney's chin, lifted her face, leaned in and kissed her softly. Gwen put her other hand on Courtney's tan, flat waist, while Courtney wrapped her arms around Gwen's neck.

Although Courtney wanted to kiss Gwen until the end of time, she slowly pulled back flustered. "Gwen, I don't know," she said, still unsure about the idea.

Gwen couldn't help but gush over how cute Courtney looked when she was flustered. "You know, you're very adorable when you get flustered, or anytime really." she said, smiling, making Courtney turn to a tomato.

Eventually, Courtney began to warm up to the idea. They spent the rest of the day enjoying each other's company, cuddling as they watched the sunset. They fell asleep in each other's arms, feeling content and happy with their decision to give their relationship a chance.
