Snow is NOT My Friend

Sam's Pov:

When Elton says that we're going snowmobiling and you have a boyfriend who is known for getting injured, you can see why I was not super enthusiastic about it. I also felt bad since Corey had just gone through a car crash not too long ago. But like everything else Elton says I go with it. I guess when we started getting closer to the place Colby could tell I was unusually quiet.

Colby: What's going on

Sam: I can't help but feel like something is going to go wrong

I can tell he knows what I mean because he stiffens up. I look down at my hands, but he tilts me head up so I can look at him.

Colby: I know you're worried but nothing is going to go wrong, we'll all be ok. You're just getting in your head

Sam: You're right

He kisses me and we come to a stop.

Elton: Alright everyone ready?!

Colby: Hell yeah!

I get excited but still a part of me tells me that something will go wrong

Corey: Let's do this!

Sam: This is going to be awesome!

*After everything is explained*

Elton: We have two snowmobiles and four of us

Corey: I'm driving!

Sam: I'm driving!

Elton: Alrighty, I'll go with Sam

Corey: Oh really, we're switching it up now are we?

Elton: Well I think it would be a good bonding experience

Colby: It feels like were watching our parents fight

Colby leans into me as he whispers. I whisper back.

Sam: Definitely

Corey: Ok fine! Com'on Colby looks like you're with me

Colby: Ok Aunty Corey.

Colby turns around and gives me a quick peck on the lips. Corey and Elton Awe at that. We roll our eyes. We press our foreheads together.

Sam: Please be careful

I whisper and Colby squeezes my hand.

Colby: I will and if something bad happens blame it on Corey.

Corey: Hey! That's not fair.

Elton: I agree with Colby

Elton says it jokingling, Corey glares at him.

Corey: You're only saying that because you favorite Colby more

Elton: Whatever, I think Colby just likes me more

Corey: Excuse me! Is that true Colby?

Colby: Um, I'm just going to

Corey: Are you kidding me!

Sam: Don't worry Aunty Corey, you'll always be my favorite

Corey: Thank you Sam

Elton: Sam how could you?

I shrug.

Corey: Well see ya guys

Corey grabs Colby's arm and drags him off. Elton wraps an arm around me and we start walking towards the vehicle.

Elton: Ready to have some fun with Uncle Elty?

Sam: Yeah

I glance over to Colby. This sense of worry drowns me. Elton notices my distractedness.

Elton: He'll be ok, if not he always bounces back

Sam: I know, but what if one day he doesn't? He won't always be able to bounce back.

Elton: Let's not think about that right now ok.

He kisses my forehead. We get on the bike and I speed up next to Corey.

Sam: Later losers

I speed off. I constantly look back to make sure they are still behind us. As we continue going, I start living in the moment, not looking behind me. I'm broken out of my trance when Elton starts yelling.

Elton: They're not behind us!

Sam: What!

I turn around not looking where I'm going. I crash into a pile of snow and the snowmobile gets stuck. Me and Elton get off.

Elton: We've been doing this for about 5 minutes, how have we already managed to get stuck and lose Corey and Colby?

Sam: We're stuck and they could be dead?

I try to play it off cool for the camera, but I'm panicking. I can tell Elton is too. We pull the snowmobile out of the snow with all our strength and thankfully it comes out.

Elton: Let's drive back and try to find them

Sam: Yeah, I wonder what happened

We quickly get back on the bike. I allow Elton to drive. It feels like forever till Elton stops driving. Elton gets off and I follow in sync. That's when I get a look at what happened. The snowmobile is in deep snow, Corey is helping Colby stand and walk,Colby is staggering and swaying, and a tree branch is broken and laying where Colby was. Elton runs up to Corey to hear what happened. I run over as well, my eyes never leaving Colby.

Elton: What happened?

Corey: I don't know! Colby started to like standing up or something and I accidentally hit the accelerator too hard and he went flying into the tree!

Elton: Colby are you ok?

Colby: I-I

Colby's legs go out. I reach out to him before he falls. I slowly lower him to the ground.

Sam: Colbs what's the matter? What hurts?

Colby: My head and my arm

Elton: I'm going to take you helmet off ok?

Colby slowly nods his head. Elton takes his helmet off and I feel Colby slightly wince at the action.

Elton: Sorry buddy

There is a stream of blood dropping down the side of his neck from a cut on his forehead. I look at Elton fearing the worst. Elton looks at me with a concerned glance.

Corey: He needs to get checked out by a doctor

I glance up at Corey, he looks guilty as if this is his fault.

Corey: I'll take him to the nurses station by the rental building

Elton: Ok me and Sam will catch up with you

I help Colby up and take most of his weight. Corey latches onto him and I let go. He walks to his bike and gets on. He drives slowly and carefully since Colby is injured.

Elton: We can't take him anywhere can we?

I sigh heavily.

Sam: No we can't

Elton: Come on let's go see what your boyfriend managed to do this time

Sam: He's going to be the death of me

Elton chuckles at that and we get on the snowmobile and drive off. I love Colby, but he seriously is going to be the death of me.
