Our Journey

Part 1

Allayah's Pov:

"Hahaha,"we all laughed as we sat around the dinner table.

We haven't gotten such a good laugh in a long time. Around this time of year we would all gather together at Ma's house for family time,especially because she insisted on keeping the family together.

"So Allayah,hows school going?" my uncle Devin asked.

"Its good,Im top 5 in my class actually," I said proudly.

"Really?Thats so good,"my uncle replied.

"Yeah ,and Im really happy that you made it this far considering what happened to you.Keep up the good work baby"Ma said giving me a comfort hug.

"I dont know, but every time Im reminded of what happened I just...I just want to dissappear," I thought to myself.

Even though I was with everyone here now ,my mind was elsewhere.

I pushed back my chair quickly as i could feel the tears coming and I really dont wanna deal with this now "Um ,Im gonna go to the bathroom,Ill be back shortly."
I made my way to the bathroom without looking back .

Everyone just began talking again while Allayah ran up the stairs in tears.She shut the door with a loud "Smash."

She couldn't control her tears anymore and everything just came down on her at once.

"No no no,"she mumbled.Leaning herself on the wall she could hardly keep herself from falling.She then stood up and turned herself to the mirror.

"I wish I could just erase everything that happened,"she said with tears falling down her face.

She then looked at her wrist and shaked her head.

Allayah was in a point of her life where she harmed herself just so the pain could go away.

"Allayah,Allayah.Are you okay?"her cousin Trinna asked from the door.

"Yeah im totally fine,umm just give me a minute,"she replied trying her best to let her sobbing go unnoticeable.

There was silence at the door for what seems like too long,then Trinna says "Allayah, you know Im always here for you when you need me.Right?"

"Yeah I..I do know that,its just that I dint want to talk about it right now,"she sniffled back.

"Im gonna tell them that your going to bed.Get some rest okay?"Trinna said to Allayah.

"Yeah,thanks Trin."Allayah said.

Trinna then walked back downstairs to the family and told them that Allayah wasn't feeling too well so she's taking a nap.

Allayah went to her room.She closed the door behind her and sat on her bed.

Allayah tried her best to think about something else but her mind wasn't doing her any justice.Her mind just kept going back to what happened.She just decided to lay down until she fell
asleep.
