Two days passed before I was released from the hospital.
Just as promised, Jae stayed by my side as much as possible, which still felt strange seeing as how he was really still just an acquaintance whose home I was staying in for a few weeks. Maybe he felt a type of obligation to make sure I was really okay since I was, after all, a foreigner in his care so to speak.
It felt good to be back in a normal bed, even if it wasn't my own. I was still feeling after effects of the anaphylactic shock, but I was ready to try and make the best of the rest of the time I had for my vacation to Seoul.
On my agenda for the day was to do some shopping in the Gangnam District. I figured if I go to the COEX Mall, I would be able to easily spend the entire day shopping. I also wanted to go to the aquarium there. I imagine it is nothing like the smaller aquariums we have in Oklahoma!
I decided it was time to go ahead and get up out of the comfy bed and get ready for what that day had in store for me. I showered and dressed, put on some light makeup, and went to the kitchen to see if I could handle eating something more than a little porridge.
Since my throat had been sore for the past few days, I hadn't eaten much other than vegetable porridge and other soft, bland foods. I was ready for something with flavor!
Once in the kitchen, I found that Jae's sister was there cooking, and she had set out the ingredients to make tornado omelets. Praise the Lord! Some real food!
Since Jae had to go into the main company to work at the studio for a while this morning, he said he would have to meet me later at the COEX Mall. He told me he had some surprise for me, and that his sister would be driving me to the mall around 11:00 am.
I still had some time to enjoy my breakfast and sit down to relax for about an hour before leaving for the mall. I decided I would watch some music videos of Jae's group since the songs I heard on the playlist while flying here were really good.
When the first video started to play, I noticed something crazy. One of the members of the group was Han Jun! No wonder he laughed when we were talking about Popeul Robeu!
Time flew, and before I knew, it was time to leave for the mall. I grabbed what I needed, and Mi-sun and I left for the COEX. We didn't have any problems with paparazzi, because everyone knew Jae-Woo would be at the record company headquarters today working.
We got to the COEX around 11:30 am and it was oddly quiet. The parking area was virtually empty, except for a few cars and a rather large black van. Mi-sun parked near the van and turned off the engine. She and I got out of the car, and all of the sudden the sliding door to the van parked near us opened.
I immediately noticed Jae coming out of one of the vans, and then 4 other men exited after him. It was four of the members of his group (I recognized them from the videos I watched that morning). There were 7 in the group altogether, but two were missing since they were fulfilling their military service.
They all approached us, with their security close behind and to the sides, and Jae said to me, "I'm glad you made it on time! I think you may remember the leader of the group, Han Jun. He was on your flight here to Seoul. He was coming back from doing a solo promotion in the US, and I talked him into taking the same flight as you to make sure you made it safely and felt welcomed. I hope you don't mind."
"No, not at all," I replied, "We had a nice chat on the plane, but he sure is good at keeping a secret!"
Han Jun let out a hearty laugh.
