Honami Ichinose stared out the window of her Tokyo apartment, lost in thought. She had just returned from a long day at work, and her mind was racing with memories of her high school days. In particular, she couldn't shake the memories of a certain someone.
Kiyotaka Ayanokouji.
It had been years since they had last spoken, but Honami couldn't help but wonder how he was doing. The last she had heard, he had moved overseas for work. She had always admired his intelligence and his calm, cool demeanor. And if she was being honest with herself, she had always had a bit of a crush on him.
But that was in the past. Honami had her own life now, with her own career and her own goals. She didn't have time for a relationship, and even if she did, she wasn't sure if Kiyotaka was interested.
As she poured herself a cup of tea, her phone buzzed. She picked it up to see a text message from an unfamiliar number.
"Hey Honami, it's Kiyotaka. I'm back in Japan for a business trip. Want to grab a drink sometime?" a monotonous voice spoke.
Honami's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't believe it. After all these years, Kiyotaka had reached out to her.
She took a deep breath and replied, "Sure. Let's meet up tomorrow." she said exited.
Honami set down her phone and sat back down at the kitchen table. She couldn't help but smile as she thought about the possibilities of seeing Kiyotaka again. She wondered what he looked like now and what he had been up to all these years.
But as her thoughts drifted, she realized she had no idea what to wear. After all, this was a business trip for Kiyotaka, so he would probably be dressed professionally. On the other hand, Honami had just come back from a long day at work and was still wearing her office clothes.
She looked down at her outfit, a simple blouse and pencil skirt, and shook her head. It was too formal for a casual meet-up, and she wanted to look her best for Kiyotaka.
After a moment of deliberation, Honami decided to wear her favorite dress, a soft pink A-line number that she had bought for a friend's wedding. It was feminine and flattering, but not too over-the-top. She paired it with a simple cardigan and a pair of nude heels, feeling confident and beautiful as she looked at herself in the mirror.
With her outfit sorted, Honami sat back down and couldn't help but wonder what Kiyotaka would think of her after all these years. Would he still see her as the same girl from high school, or would he be surprised by the woman she had become?
Only time would tell, but for now, Honami was excited for the possibilities that lay ahead.
The next morning, Honami headed out to the cafe where she had agreed to meet Kiyotaka. She spotted him at a table by the window, looking just as she remembered him. He was still as handsome as ever, with his brown hair and piercing gaze.
As she approached the table, she felt a rush of nervousness. It had been so long since they had seen each other.
What would they talk about?
Would they still have a connection?
"H-Hey, how's it going?" she asked nervously.
Kiyotaka glanced at her and opened his mouth, surprised.
Ichinose took a seat across from him and nervously smiled as Kiyotaka continued to stare.
"I-Is something wrong?"
"N-No. I-I just got distracted. I apologize," he said brushing away his nervousness.
Honami breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "It's good to see you again, Kiyotaka."
