Chapter 6

Y/N P.O.V

"FRED, GEORGE! WAIT UP."

They turned to wait for me as I ran to catch up. I stoped in front of them, doubling over to catch my breath. I still hadn't really recovered from the dementor incident but I refused to stay in the hospital wing for more then the time I had been unconscious. 

"Hey, Y/n. You're out of the hospital wing."

"Yeah, how are you?"

"Ok, but I need a favour."

The twins gave me a mischievous look, clearly they had instantly started planning something as soon as I said that. I sighed, knowing what was coming.

"FINE. What do I have to do for you two to help me?"

They both laughed and Fred dug around his pocket ad handed me a note. I opened it and read.

Bloating Bogums Ingredients - 
- Lacewing Flies
- Boomslang Skin
- Glow-stone Dust
- Fermented Spider's Eyes

I scanned through the ingredients, knowing all of them were in the potions stock cupboard, and put it in my pocket. 

"Two cups of each ingredient if you help me, alright?"

I put out my hand and the twins nodded and both shook. 

"So what do ya need Y/n?"

"What can one of our manny talents assist you in?"

"What's the best way to get out of the castle easily without getting caught? Would I need the invisibility cloak or not?" 

The twins smiled.

"You and Harry trying to sneak out to go to Hogsmeade tomorrow?"

"Well we have just the thing for you."

George reached into his bag and pulled out a largish rectangular map looking thing. On the front there was an emblem that read The Marauders Map.

"This is what you need. It tracks all the professors in the school and shows you the different ways out of the castle."

I opened the map and started. It was blank. Blank. 

"But it's blank, how is that gonna help?"

"Ahh~ You gotta pull out your wand and tap it while saying I solemnly swear I'm up to no good. Then when you're finished you tap it again and say Mischief Managed."

I pulled out my wand, tapped the blank page, and muttered. Suddenly the map came to life, lines curling out from the tip of my wand and spreading across the page revealing the hallways and ground of Hogwarts. Multiple name tags appeared, Professor McGonagall, Snape and even Ms Norris. 

"This tracks all the teachers and staff in the school. You still have to work around prefects and the head boy and girl but it helps navigate and leave the school without getting caught." 

I smiled, the twins always had the answer. The fun answer that is. 

"Thanks you two. And I know, two cups of each ingredient. I'll get them to you by dinner."

The twins nodded and walked off waving. I turned to walk off and bumped in Mattheo. 

"Watch it Potter. What are you up to?"

"Something. Oh- I need your help."

Mattheo gave me a suspecting look.

"With what?"

"I need to steal some ingredients from Snape."

Mattheo rolled his eyes. 

"No. I'm not going to steal from Snape."

"Please~ I can't do it on my own."

"Well you should have thought about that before you decided to steal them."

"Please~ Pretty please Mattheo~ I'll pay you back."

"With what?"

I paused to think. What could I give Mattheo so he would help me?

"I'll get you a small bag of whatever you want from Honeydukes if you help me."

I watched Mattheo ponder my answer then sigh.

"Fine but if we get caught I am immediately blaming you, alright?"

"Fair enough. Now, let's go."

I headed off to the Ingredients cupboard with Mattheo following behind. We got to the cupboard and I pulled out my wand, pointing it at the handle. 

"Alohomora."

  I whispered and the door popped open. 

"Stay out here and keep watch."

Mattheo nodded and I crept inside the cupboard. I pulled out the list and found the jars with the matching names. I took two cups of each ingredient and put them all into separate bags, making sure I didn't move the jars so no one would know the room had been disturbed. As I was closing up the last bag I heard Mattheo,

"Potter! Snape is coming."

I hopped off the ladder, put it back where it was before, and exited the cupboard. I locked the door behind me and Mattheo and I bolted. We ran in the opposite direction from where, I could now hear, Snape's footsteps where coming from. We kept running until we had reached the moving staircases.  I stopped to take a breath and looked over to Mattheo. He caught my eye and, after a second, I burst out laughing. 

"That was a close one Potter. Lucky I didn't want detention."

"I thought you were gonna blame me for everything if we got caught."

"I was but you know Snape would still give me detention."

I straightened up, stretched, and began to walk towards the hospital wing.

"It's fine. You're one of Snape's favourites, you'd of been fine."

I caught Mattheo's eye roll out of the corner of my eye and smirked.

"YOU'RE WELCOME POTTER!"

"THANKS RIDDLE."

I walked back into the hospital wing (home sweet home 🙄) and sat back down next to Harry. 

"How'd it go?"

"Got something, but we'll still need the invisibility cloak."

"What did you get?"

"It's called the Marauder's Map. It tracks all the professors and staff at Hogwarts, even Miss Norris. All though it did track Newt Scamander so maybe it just tracks all the adults at Hogwarts. It also shows all the secret passages going in and out of Hogwarts and even secret paths down into Hogsmeade. We can use it to sneak out of Hogwarts without getting caught."

"Nice. Who'd you get it from."

"The twins. Had to do them a favour though."

Harry gave me a knowing look and I rolled my eyes.

"I stole a few ingredients from Snape for them. I didn't get caught so stop looking at me like that Mr Goody-Two-Shoes."

Harry smiled for a little then his face fell. He looked down at his blankets, avoiding looking at me.

"Hey Y/N... Is it true you're friends with Malfoy? and Pansy and Zambini? and Theo?"

I rolled my eyes again. He knew this already.

"Yes! I told you this in first year. Don't you remember?" 

Harry got a sad and guilty look on his face. 

"Harry, what's wrong?"

"I guess Malfoy was right."

"What?"

"I guess I don't care enough about you to remember your friends."
