Chapter 9

Once John had finished tending to everyone's wounds, he wandered out to the balcony to meet Adam.

"Your going to have to go back soon," John sighed.

Adam turned to face him.

"I was wondering if I could join you," he replied, "can I do that?"

John nodded, "Sure, you really can't go home can you? I mean you kind of attacked your own group!" John paused, "also, we both kind of fight for the same thing... peace." John shook Adam's hand.

"Welcome to the group!"

John wandered back out to the balcony a second time to find Sonja.

"Hi," Sonja sighed. She was looking over the river in sadness.

"John," she turned to him.

John came and stood next to her.

"Yes?" He answered.

"Why did this happen?" She asked.

John sighed.

"There was a time when a Mage was free to do whatever he wanted in the world. Our time has come to an end," he replied.

"The world use to be a bigger place." She sighed.

"No, the worlds still the same. There's just... Less in it." He mumbled.

Sonja turned to him.

"Thank you John, for everything." She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

John blushed and turned around to walk back inside.

"Come on, let's go back in." As he wandered back in, he noticed she didn't follow.

When he walked out she was gone. John called every one out. Cooper walked over.

"what is it now?" He laughed as he stood next to John.

John found a note on the ground. He picked it up and read it allowed.

Greeting! In order to find who you seek you must go were the river meets the ocean and then travel further and you will find me.

"Oh my god!" Summer noticed what had happened.

"What?" John asked.

"They took Sonja didn't they?"

"Wh-"

"DIDN'T THEY?!"

"Y-YES!"

Summer continued to yell at John. Something to do with, she was in his care and it was his fault.

He wasn't really listening though. He looked out at the vast river outside their house. It looked like they had another journey in their hands. There were so many questions.

Who took Sonja?

How would they get her?

How do they cross the ocean?!?!?!?

To get those answers John would have to find someone. Someone who had helped them once before...

Carnage.

But that would be at a later date.

"JOHN?! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!"

"NOPE!"

"UUUUGGGHHHH!!!!!!"

Everyone laughed. They weren't worried. After all, they had done this before. Yes, it was a serious matter. They would rescue Sonja. They had to!

They would! Because they had the courage! The strengh! The will to go on! And they would!
