Alicia Pov

I sigh standing up getting ready to leave the plane after landing. Doing a little stretch after being off the plane i make my way over to the baggage claim. Looking around at my surroundings i decided to put my headphones on and listen to "All the stars". arriving toward baggage claim i wait patiently till my bags come out... or as patiently i possibly can considering how early i had woken up and how little sleep i was able to get on the plane ride. "ay dios mío por fin" (omg finally) i sigh under my breathe as i finally see my bag.

Realistically i only waited about 5-10 minutes but i was super tired and impatient. dragging my bag over toward the pool of people waiting to find there family to take home my eyes land on a welcome sign with my name on it. This would be the time to explain how although i'm cuban- American i still have family in Spain. Cuba wasn't the most ideal place to continue living for my family considering how poor it was and how bad the ruling was. So i had family obviously flee to América although some decided Spain. I wasn't well aquatinted with my family outside of America and it's not done on purpose, it is simply due to the time difference and the fact that i've never once met them in person before.

Slowly walking up to them i was quickly pulled into a hug by my cousin, I've talked to her a good amount of times all things considered. returning the hug i slowly pull away and smile towards her "oh my goodness Alicia i can't believe i finally get to meet you in person it's been so long since i've last got the chance to talk to you" my cousin camila a spoke rather excitedly towards me. Laughing softly i retune a kind smile "it's so nice to finally meet you in person prima" i reply. My other cousin Tito and I exchanged and quick hello and hug before he grabbed my bag and led me towards there car. The car ride wasn't long nor was it short. The ride wasn't awkward as a simple conversation broke out being mostly spoken from camila asking me non stop questions about my life in america. We slowly pull into a rather nice looking apartment complex. It was definitely on the more wealthy side. Being amazed my cousins and i slowly all get out of the car. "Woah this is where you guys live?" i ask in amazement as we walk into the apartment lobby. "umm nope this is where you live.. and i'm only slightly jealous.." my cousin tito responds "nope i'm just jealous not even slightly im completely" camila quickly adds on making me chuckle. Theirs no way this is for me i thought to myself "Are you sure you brought us to the right place tito?" i question "positive" he responds.

Walking towards the front desk or what appeared to be a front a desk i ask the worker for my apartment and give my information to confirm that it is in fact me who owns the apartment. quickly getting the keys my cousins and I find ourself making our way towards my apartment. Opening the door to my apartment i am left speachless as is Tito. Camila on the other hand seems to be anything but speachless as she runs around every room around the apartment practically screaming how big and beautiful it is . "wow you really out did urself this time papi" i sigh under my breath.

The apartment already had furniture thanks to my moms brilliant thinking ahead. I already had boxes in here from back home that i had to ship off two weeks ago. sighing already tired i new i would have to unpack this stuff. I can already feel the headache forming just thinking about all this unpacking and time settling down. My thoughts were broken but not by camila surprisingly but by Tito "our mom invited you over for dinner tonight if you would like to come" Tito doesn't seem to talk much or maybe it's just simply cuz we obviously know each other but not enough to be comfortable with me. Smiling I nod my head greatfully "that would be lovely" i sigh.

Quick to abandon my luggage in my apartment i make sure to grab my phone and keys before heading off with my cousins making sure to lock the door behind me. the car ride was silent but not an uncomfortable silence, or so i thought. My cousins had been having a whole conversation but i was to stuck in my head to realize. "Aliciaaa" camila dragged my name snapping me out of my thoughts "yea?" i question confused as to why she suddenly yelled my name "did you not hear anything we said?" shaking my head even more confused now "sorry no" i reply "are you ok? what were you thinking about in that head of yours?" Tito questions "Nothing much if i'm being quiet honest with you guys i just got lost in thoughts" i lied. My thoughts were anything but nothing. I was busy thinking about how stressful life is going to be here. Having to unpack go shopping as well as start my schooling next week and find time to balance it all while trying to settle into a whole new country with out my family seemed to suddenly hit me. "what we're you guys talking about before i'm sorry" i say trying to change the subject after get a questioning look from Tito who clearly didn't believe me. "we were just asking how you would feel with us coming over when we can to help you unpack and show you around" camila responded thankfully. Smiling grateful for the offer "I would love that thank you " i sigh relief taking over my body knowing i'm not completely alone in this foreign country.

Soon we arrive at their house and i'm immediately greated by a hug. "ay dios mío Alicia que lindo conocerte por fin" (omg alicia how lovely to finally meet you) my cousin said while slowly releasing me from the hug. Yes i said cousin. This is where things get slightly confusing. See my cousin who just hugged me? yea that's Tito's and Camilas mom. Samira is her beautiful name she's the mother of Tito and Camila, she's cousins to my abuela from my dads side making her my fathers second cousin my third cousin. Her children are my fourth cousins. It can get very confusing but once it's explained more detailed it gets quiet easy to understand.

After all the welcoming and getting to know small details about eachothers day Samira lead us to the table where she had arroz y frijoles accompanied by bistec (rice and beans accompanied by steak) and let me tell you... it was delicioussss or maybe i was just hungry regardless i loved every single bite. after small talk and getting to know each other better it was soon time to go home. After Tito dropped me off  i went straight to my bathroom to showered and grabbed a pair of pajamas from my luggage. Jumping into bed never felt so good before. The second my head hit the pillow i was out like a light.
