L and K have never met. Believe it or not, they've never even heard each others real voices. They knew absolutely nothing about the other. Oh, other than the other's accomplishments, their intelligent mind, and the fact that in a sense, were enemies. Yet, they couldn't help but feel a slight tingle of competition when they knew the other was working on the same case. The question of do or die, who will solve it first. It was truly intriguing for them both.
At the end of the day, Jade, also known as K , never wanted to be a detective. Unlike L, she didn't grow up groomed into being a detective. Her grades in school where actually quite average. She didn't pay extra money for a tutor she didn't need. She didn't need to pay for a fancy education in order to be a detective. There was nothing special about her. At least that's what outsiders, those not in her own head, believed.
In most ways, L and Jade were complete opposites.
One thing the two could agree on though, was that the best part of their job, was their little unspoken competition when they happen to work on the same case.
Our analytical detective, as cautious as he is clueless about people, isn't creative, artistic, or funny, well, he doesn't try to be. L is, however, witty, intelligent, quick thinking, and to put it lightly blunt. How fast his brain runs makes up for all of the sugar he consumes within a 24 hour time period and his lack of sleep is made up for how much caffeinated tea and coffee he drinks. He constantly works and has never had time for social events such as dates or even going out with a friend or two. It is basically just him and Watari.
Jade wasn't the social butterfly everyone pegged her out to be. Truthfully, she just enjoyed the company of people. This is not the same thing as enjoying interacting with said people. She just loved the company. The company she most enjoyed was that of her guitar and coffee mug that was filled with almost everything except coffee. Apple juice, orange juice, milk tea, hot chocolate, chai tea, anything you can drink, it's probably been in that mug. Her sleep schedule is one of the most important things to her and yet, she breaks it all the time. This doesn't stop her from getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night, however.
Her right-hand man, or woman, is named Inko Montouya. The bubbly, intelligent girl has been Jade's best friend since year 2 of junior high. There isn't a piece of technology she can't hack into and a code she can't crack. In every way, she was a perfect right hand for Jade, both for her work and just for life.
Jade, was more than anything, a right brainer. She was creative, funny, artistic, chraming, something, anyone would say, if asked, isn't typical of a detective. But lets be honest, there are quite a few things about Jade that most people would say isn't typical of a detective, let alone a person.
Truth is, Jade was built to be a detective and not only because of her brilliant intellect and deductive skills.
Jade was, in a way, psychic.
Her abilities really only ranged from detecting a lie when heard and, sometimes, telepathy.
Her telepathy worked like internet connection in the middle of nowhere. Spotty. Randomly picking up a signal. She has no control over when her telepathy activates, something she wishes she could dictate, especially at a time like this.
Hello! Thank you for choosing to read my story, I hope it doesn't disappoint.
When I first started this project, I didn't think I'd be publishing it, but I actually like how this story is going so I thought that it couldn't hurt to put it out there :)
If there are some errors, please don't hesitate to let me know.
This will be the only author note I will be putting out there (hopefully) so don't worry, no boring rants in between chapters.
Thats all, enjoy the story, much love.
