Nya held Jay's dead body tightly against her chest. tears break from her eyes, hoping for every chance that he could awaken anytime soon.

his whole body was limp under the warm tears that streaked down her cheeks. "i'm so sorry jay" she whispered hoarsely.

Over her shoulder, Nya saw that, like her, the others were expressing their emotions and didn't care if anyone could see them as so weak. her teeth clacked, clenching her teeth hard to prevent the heavy breathing from taking over with the complete panic.

Nya heard a faint, haunting beeping, and at first she thought it was an alarm, but then she realized that where they were, alarms of any kind could not be there.

She not seem to understand it until Nya take a gaze towards the trail of the beeping sound that became louder and louder to her ears.

The water ninja jerked awake, feeling right after the tears in the dream coming true on her red cheeks, along with the drops of sweat that had formed on her forehead. she stared at the black alarm clock above the bedside table, as her eyes recover from the sudden sunlight in the room. It was 8 a.m. at least she hadn't woken up in the middle of the night.

It was a nightmare.. again.

But this was different, she had never dreamed of her lifeless Yin in her arms. Usually the lifeless one marked to remain on his arms, in dreams, had always been her. But unfortunately it did happened that she dreamed of Jay in her place, after the alternative timeline and all that difficult story.. not to mention when she saw Jay for the first time in several weeks that he had been kidnapped and taken to the misfortune keep.

Seeing him so extremely hurt had scarred Nya's heart, making her feel immensely guilty for treating him that way before the pirates took him off that island. also letting him go all alone inside the cave, where the widow tiger was staying unseen from the danger, and Jay had to take the venom.

Nya's eyes were still glued on the clock. She stayed like that for a minute or so, rubbing away the, now, dry tears.

the weight on the other half of the bed made the whole mattress move a little, reminding Nya that she was not alone in her room. two warm arms grabbed her and held her close, comforting her lovingly.

"it's okay, it was just another nightmare.."

"mhmm" Nya mumbled, not having her completely indestructible mood this time.

She could feel his heart beating softly drumming, as he buried his face against her dark hair.

"don't worry" He whispered to her, "I will protect you from everything if you do not have the strength to do it yourself"

Nya's tears starting to call their fall again.

Jay knew about these nightmares. he himself often had them.. If not every night, but these had become, fortunately for them, less frequent than usual, until they vanished as their lives seemed to go on together. but after Nya sacrificed herself and became her element completely, only to be then resurrected on her body of flesh and bones again after one whole year... everything became a little more difficult than before, returning just as it was, along with the various nightmares their brains had chosen to mix with all their misfortunes.

Nya was most likely not talking now because of for the memory of the nightmare that flashed in this moment forward her eyes.

But Jay was there. And he was there, all the time, holding her tightly to make her understand that he knew about this kind of pain, even though he still didn't know what she had dreamed now, but Jay had an a vague idea.

Nya let her cheek press against his chest, making her feel much better.

Jay was fine.. she was really sure of that now. He was strong, managing to overcome his pain behind any joke or smile. something she admired so much, but couldn't do.

she held him back, wanting to give comfort to him too. after a couple of minutes Nya raised her head to see his gentle blue eyes already staring at hers.

"Jay" Nya whispered, not feeling the need to detach yet "thank you"

"for what?" he softly giggled, not understanding her words. but she didn't answer him, letting her foolishly smile as she put the head again in his chest.

"you're welcome, I guess" He was smiling too, finding adorable the kind of smile, that Nya didn't believe him when Jay said it, but was only for him.

But she actually knew very well about this. Looking at any video or photo, whether it was made by themselves or not, if the two were exchanging a look, a certain glitter, accompanied by that smile, were always present even though there could be discomfort in the moment.

Nya thanked him, but didn't answer why. She wanted to say it out loud, but she wasn't actually ready after that dream and especially for the morning hour at the time. The mood is never the best in the morning for her... But she really wanted to let Jay know that she was grateful he was still by her side as always, after all. But he probably already knew.

"hey.. Nya.." The whisper of her name took Nya away from her reasons, bringing her back into his gentle gaze.

"Are you okay?" he asked. Despite having a small smile, his brows could not help but form in worry.

And still not letting Jay take his arms off her, taking away the feeling of security inside, she replied again with a smile "with you I'm always fine"

very very short, but I thought it was a nice idea to write a little Nya angst-comfort
