"If those are your friends, you're really very lonely"
—Joe Goldberg, YOU.•••
He looked just as she remembered him. The shorter man stood by the door with a scowl on his face. She silently studied him. Tattooed arms were hidden beneath the expensive black material of his turtleneck as he slowly prowled towards her, his footsteps echoing through the otherwise quiet room She watched as his toned physique made its way from the door to the foot of her bed.
April swept her gaze up to his face. From his sharp jawline that was covered in stubble to his prominent cheekbones to his nose to his plump lips. April drank in the sight that was before her. Her eyes moved from his lips to the black ink above his brow. She took in every detail, feeling a mix of both excitement and nervousness.
"April." When she heard her name did her eyes finally meet his. Two tides meeting, there was a restless atmosphere in their silence. April could feel herself drowning and she reveled in the moment.
The woman stared wide eyed at Ramee as he walked up to her and leaned in, taking up her space, invading her senses with the scent of his cologne and the whisper of fenugreek on his breath. She didn't know what she was expecting, perhaps a hug, but he leaned in and grabbed the LifeInvader phone that she'd dropped on the bed when she saw him enter the room. April was so surprised by the fact that he was even in the same room as her that it took her a few seconds to process what he was doing.
"Ramee no!" April yelled in despair as she watched him throw the phone on the floor and step on it. She felt her heart shattering along with her phone screen as she desperately tried to stop him from destroying her gift. The distressed woman cried out, her hands clawing at the air as she watched him destroy the phone further, smashing it into smaller pieces as he used his gun against it like a hammer. the sound of the phone being destroyed, the pieces clattering against the ground.
Just when she thought he was done he threw the broken phone into the vase that was filled with the dying Zinnias she'd been trying to revive. The sound of the water seeping into the device destroyed any feelings that she felt bubbling within her. She could see the shattered pieces of the phone sinking into the water, the shards of glass along with the wilted orange flowers looked like sad confetti slowly sinking to the bottom.
"Why?" She cried out. Her watery blue eyes stared at him desperately. She was on the verge of crying, which was stupid, but she couldn't help it.
That phone was what kept her sane in the hospital. Without it she had nothing and no one. She would be alone with her thoughts, trapped in her own mind. The thought of it made her stomach churn. April knew that her intrusive thoughts may not have been the truth now that the boys were released from jail but she didn't know if they'd even visit her.
"Jesus calm down April. I had to do it." Ramee rushed out to a panicked April. The redhead thought about how lonely she would be when they eventually left. She was stuck in this hospital and now she couldn't call anyone.
"Your phone was bugged. They've been listening to your conversations all along." April's eyes widened at Ramee's words. She thought he was in a coma. Conan and Tessa said so themselves. He was heavily guarded. There was no way he could have put a listening device in her phone again.
"But he's in a coma... I thought he was... he can't... Joe-" April failed stringing together her words. Her panic caused her to clumsily spill her words into an incoherent jumble of sounds. April was so focussed on the thought that Joe could have escaped that she hadn't even noticed Bleach walking around the room and opening and closing drawers as if he was searching for something.
