Alyssa was unaware of her naughty secret being spilled to her husband. She'd been dancing with Baela. Dancing until a hand rested itself on the small of her back. Alyssa knew it to be Jace and paused her dancing, almost shivering when she felt his hot breath just beneath her ear.

"I believe it's time for bed. I cannot wait any longer."

Finally.

Without skipping a beat, Alyssa dropped Baela's hands. It was to the great confusion of Baela, who hadn't been quite finished dancing with her yet.

"A splendid idea," Alyssa replied, a small smile on her face. She glanced back at her sister. "We're going to bed," she said quickly, grabbing onto Jace and leaving Baela where she stood.

Jace followed Alyssa eagerly as they made it back for the head table. They couldn't exactly leave without telling anyone. No matter that they were eager, willing participants, they still needed some witnesses. To assure they made it to the bedchamber, at least.

They found themselves standing before Rhaenyra and Daemon. Jace and Alyssa bowed curtly, "Your Grace," he said, gripping Alyssa's hand tightly. "We're ready to go to bed."

Rhaenyra studied her son and his bride for a moment, a small smile, or perhaps a smirk, playing at her lips. It was hard to believe her son was at that age. The age where he was taking his new wife to bed.

Alyssa was just as eager as Jace. Almost vibrating beside him while they waited for Rhaenyra.

She nodded, sending a look toward Daemon whose expression had changed slightly, and then stood with her cup of wine in hand.

That was all it took for the lords in the hall to quiet themselves and turn their attention to the head table. The music stopped, as did the chattering, and Rhaenyra spoke.

"My lords, the time has come to take my son and my good daughter to bed. Let us all wish them a good night."

Chanting and cheering. That was most of what Alyssa recalled about that. The chorus of "to bed" began immediately. Even Daemon joined in because he'd always wanted the best for his daughter and that included having a pleasing wedding night.

He'd have done the same for a son, Alyssa shouldn't have been any different.

What Alyssa didn't remember was being taken from the hall to the bedchamber. It was all a flurry for her. Being surrounded and carried by men as they joked and jeered about what Alyssa and Jace should do that night.

Their agreement was no disrobing. Alyssa and Jace were still encouraged along by the guests of their wedding. She might've been glad she couldn't get a look at anyone else in her family on the way out.

She truly didn't really register what was happening, the jeers encouraging Alyssa to invoke her namesake, until she was being lightly tossed onto the bed.

And then Jace appeared and he was above her, looking down at Alyssa. Suddenly, nothing else mattered. There weren't spectators, there weren't jokes and cheers. It was just them. And they could finally do what they'd longed to do.

Alyssa wasted no time. Not even with those who'd yet to leave them still in the room. She leaned up and attached herself to him. Jace would learn how much Alyssa had held herself back during those many times they'd slept in the same tent.
