The place is windy as the warmth of the sun kissed my skin. Lying down, I looked up in the sky and saw a flock of birds forming a 'V' shape on the clouds. I inhaled the fresh air and sat up. Looking at the place where I landed, ...landed? Now that I've got a quick look at my surroundings, I'm somehow transferred from the districts of Seoul into an unknown meadow.
...
"Where the heck am I?"
Let's rewind the tape a bit around 12 hours before this tragedy came place.
"Hey Prez!" I lifted my head around from the papers I'm signing to see my carefree subordinate dilly-dallying around my room. He has his own room so why go to mine? A second after I stared at his figure, my head once again focused on the papers as I continued to sign them. This man continued to bother me leaving me with no options but to ask.
"What do you need Harner?" As I mentioned his name, he grinned. Better get over with it than never.
"Nothing Prez. I just want to see the seating arrangement for the trip later." He raised both of his arms and interlaced his fingers in a stretching position then approached my seat as he rests his head on the table with his left arm.
"I told you to check them before right? We're only 12 hours away from the flight and now you're asking me that?" A hint of irritation can be sensed in my voice but my facial expression remained, a stoic one.
"You're so stingy Prez. I'm only going to take a peek." He ended his statement with a pout. An annoying pout at that too. I really can't see it as a convincing one since he's sitting at my table right now while playing with my name plate.
"If I give you what you need, will you leave me alone?" My line of sight never left the papers as I said those words. Even if I don't look at him, I can see the victory pose he's making.
"Yes Ma'am. But before I go can I have this nameplate of yours?" He held it up and balanced it with his two fingers. Can't he see that I'm busy?
"That's an absolute no Harner. Here's the list you need. No changing of arrangements since its been already posted on the whole campus." As I grabbed the piece of paper from my drawer, he already snatched it and ran away. With my name plate at that. But he said something before he closed the door.
"Thanks Prez! Or should I say Madame Hannah Cornelia Kouka." He smiled as he slammed the door to my face. I can tell he's running based from the sound of his footsteps. He must've thought I'll chase him. I don't want someone calling me by my whole name. It's annoying.
I sighed as I finished singning the papers. I'll give that guy a scolding tomorrow. I reached my left arm at the back of my sore neck to rub it. I must have been slouching a lot this past few days. I dialed my driver's number and told him to pick me up at school. It's not like I need a chauffer but I'm required to do it.
As I waited for my ride home, I saw a group of teenagers looking at my direction. I just gave them a nod and stared at the drive way, waiting for my driver. I'm already used to this scenery. My parents are pretty famous with dad being a distant relative of the royalty and the president of the Kouka Conglomerate while Mom's the Don of a Mafia group. Being their only kid, I'm left with the burden of having high expectations.
"Madame I'm here to escort you on your way home." My driver reached out his hand to my own as he asked for my bag. I gave it to him and went inside of the car. The trip to the house was silent as it had always been. I looked up the window to see the skies getting cloudy. I hope it won't rain. We have a trip to go to.
When I arrived, I rested for a bit but when I woke up it's already 6pm. I quickly went to the bathroom to take a bath then I changed my clothes. Since no uniform is required, a casual wear would be enough. Right now I'm in a country called Japan and since the trip to Korea will be quick, my clothes should be comfy. I changed into a white turtle-neck top with long sleeves and a black colored sleeveless jacket that I left unbuttoned. I matched it with brown denim shorts and black high cut boots.
