Chapter 28: Fred has finally been with Lilith intimately and now he cannot get her out of his head.

Fred couldn't get Lilith out of his head. After months and months of yearning for her in secret, Fred had hoped that having sex with her would finally erase her from his mind.

But, bloody hell, how wrong he was.

Since last night, Fred had deeply engraved in his mind the feeling of Lilith's skin against his and the way her eyes had shown the moment that damned Oasis song had started to sound. Nothing, no matter how hard he tried, could take the place the Arambella girl had so keenly occupied in his mind and Fred was fucking pissed about it.

He knew she didn't share the same passion and obsession he felt for her. He knew the only thing that had pushed her towards her was that sexual tension that even the blindest of the wizards could see. Fred was well aware that everything surrounding them was against the two of them and while he would have been able to tear the whole world down if that meant he could be next to Lilith for a couple of seconds - although he would never admit that aloud - he knew she didn't feel the same way in the slightest.

That's why he needed to erase her from his mind. No matter how good the sex had been, no matter how connected he had felt to her, those demolishing feelings needed to go before they turned into something bigger.

"Frederick Gideon Weasley," the voice of his mother interrupted in his room while Fred was doing his best attempt to keep it tidy before getting into the shower. He looked at Molly immediately, and the rage shining in her eyes was enough to make him shiver, "A word. Now."

She exited the room without waiting for him to follow her but knowing that Fred was right behind her. Molly guided him in silence to one of the many offices inside Grimmauld and invited him to get in with that serious look that left no doubt she was enraged.

Inside the office, Fred found his twin brother leaning back against the desk. He tried to ask George with his eyes what was happening but the other Weasley only shrugged, glaring at their mother.

Molly closed the door behind her, making Fred turn around to face her.

"Whatever you think I've done, it wasn't me or George. It was Ron," he quickly said.

Molly's eyes only turned darker. Shit.

Fred gulped.

"Oh, so it is Ron the one getting closer to the Snape girl, is it?" she started with a low tone, filling the word 'Snape' with a palpable despise present in her voice. "I heard Remus and Sirius talking, Fred, and I don't know or want to know what they were referring to but I clearly heard them discussing how close you have gotten to that girl. I highly doubt they mixed your name and Ron's up, right? So, care to explain what's all of this about?"

"Mum, I'm just trying to be civil with her," Fred tried to excuse himself, omitting obviously how he had been civil with Lilith and knowing that his twin wouldn't out him. 

"Civil?" Molly scoffed, without a hint of amusement in her voice, as she came closer to the twins. "And, pray tell, why on Earth would you want to be civil with that girl? Huh? Do I have to remind your obtuse mind what her mother did to your uncles? My brothers. The same brothers you and your twin were named after."

"I need no reminder, Mum," Fred murmured.

"Really? 'Cause it doesn't look like so! How many times do I have to remind you that kid will be the doom of us? How many times do I have to repeat that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree? Do you think this is not exactly what she wants? Confronting us, dividing us, wrecking us apart so she and her wicked bastards can attack the Order at its weakest. Do you think she cares about you, Fred? Or about Hermione? Remus? Anyone other than the murderer she has a mother? I've been telling Lupin all this time but he doesn't listen to me! That damned kid is waiting for the perfect moment to send us all to the grave and you, you fucking idiot, are only making the work easier for her!"
