Mikey's Mistake (Oneshot!)

"Ugh, Mikey hurry up! We're 20 minutes late for patrol!"

Leo, Raph, Karai, and Donnie were waiting by the lair entrance for Mikey. "Coming!" Mikey called. They all sighed, some of them annoyedMikey took a long time getting ready for patrol each night.

He didn't mean to! It's just, he'd go to grab his nunchucks, then see a pizza box on the floor and get distracted. Or, he'd realize his gear was loose and he'd have to tighten it.

Mikey was often easily distracted and as a result, sometimes they were late to patrol.
"You sure you wanna tag alone, Karai? It'll be ages before Mikey's ready." Raph stated.

"Raph, calm down." Karai replied. "Don't rush him, he'll be here as soon as he's ready." Raph grumbled under his breath in response as he impatiently tapped his foot.

Mikey then ran over. "Sorry! I had to fix my wraps, then I had to go to the bathroom, and I got distracted a few times..." Mikey smiled sheepishly. Donnie sighed. "It's fine Mikey, let's just go before we waste any more time."

"You are all still here?" Splinter walked in. "Mikey took 20 minutes getting ready like usual. I mean, who takes 20 minutes to get ready for patrol? It ain't that hard." Raph complained. Leo shot Raph a look as Mikey looked down.

"My son, it is important that you are ready when your brothers and sister are. Being part of a team means not keeping others waiting and being on time." Splinter told Mikey gently. Mikey nodded, holding back tears. "Yes sensei..."

The turtles and karai then went on patrol. 
They ran together from rooftop to rooftop, jumping the big gaps in between. I

"Mikey, you have to keep up!" Karai called as she saw that Mikey was falling behind. "I'm trying!" Mikey panted. He was currently far behind the others. 

Mikey tended to get tired faster than them, mainly because he had short legs. "Well, hurry up!" Leo called out. "Guys, let's all just stand here and wait for Mikey, again." Raph said bitterly.

Mikey heard that and teared up before running faster despite being already exausted. "I'm s-sorry..." Mikey bent over to catch his breath.

"It's fine, just try and keep up next time, being too far behind is dangerous because you can get turtle-nabbed." Leo placed his hand on Mikey's shoulder.

Mikey just nodded, feeling terrible for makng them all wait on him yet again.  Several minutes later, they were fighting Fishface, Bebop, Rosksteady, Tigerclaw, and Rahzar all at once.

The brothers and sister were doing their best to defeat each villian. Each of them decided to take on a villian since it was six against six. 

Leo took on Tigerclaw, Mikey went after Rahzar, Donnie attacked Bebop, Karai went for Fishface, and Raph went for Rocksteady. Mikey did his best to take down Rahzar.

"You are going down, turtle." The undead canine growled. Mikey smirked. "That's what you think! Booyakasha!" Mikey did a backflip, bumping into Karai in the process. "Ow! Mikey, careful!"

Mikey scrambled to his feet. "Sorry, sis!" He helped her up as they all continued fighting. As Mikey fought though, he hummed and sang which annoyed the villains and made them attack harder. 

"Quit goofing around!" Donnie snapped at Mikey. "Yeah, you're making them mad!" Raph added. "Sorry!" Mikey stopped and just tried to focus on fighting and not messing up anymore then he already was.
