Sometimes I forget how extravagant my sisters are. They remind me all the time when I'm sponsoring them for something but I forget.
I look at all the stuff they packed.
I pick up a huge bag of mixed nuts "What are you doing with 2 of this?"They smile "You love nuts so that's what we want to bake your cake with"
I nod "And what about this?" I ask picking up a huge pack of roasted groundnuts "Why do you have two of this? And 5 packets of snickers? All for me?"They nod "Yeah, you know you're the only one who eats nuts" Azza responds.
"How many cakes are you baking for me? Is it 5 feet tall?"They laugh "No, it's not. It's better to buy excess than come looking for it later on"
I pick up a bag of the mixed nuts, a bag of the roasted nuts and three packets of snickers and put them in my cart."This could last me more than 5months".
This is what I meant when I say my sisters are extravagant. It's like they can't help themselves, I think they need to be trained. Live on allowance.
It's not like they need to feed, shelter, clothe themselves anyway.I huff.
This is taking too long and the cashier hasn't even started with my carts.I huff turning around and freeze as I made eye contact with Anwar.
It felt almost like my eyes where seeing things.
Was I?She turned away but eventually looks again and smiles.
"I'm coming" I say to the girls before approaching her.Now if this isn't a sign I don't know what is.
She smiles "I was actually hoping my eyes were playing tricks on me"
I chuckle "Wow, you really didn't want to see me again""Not for me but for you"
"How is that?"She takes a deep breath "Well, meeting time and time again will make us acquainted and then someone you know would be walking around with your secret. What if I tell someone?"
I smile "That I'm a workaholic? Or that I want my woman to depend on me but not depend on me?""Yeah it does sound—" I'm cut off by the presence of two girls peeping at us, hiding behind the shelves. They jump startled when we make eye contact before silently approaching us.
"Hello" one says "We've been looking for her, turns out she had company"
I nod.
"A friend from work?" A younger girl between the three asks. Most probably her sister as the resemblance is uncanny. She smiles uncomfortably "No need for introductions, we were just leaving" She says grabbing the younger girl's hands.
"But if we meet again—I'm not going to hold back. That's the new pact" I smile and walk away.
I arrived just as my things were being shoved in bags.
"Who is that?" They ask as we all turn to look at Anwar who was walking deeper into the mart."You'll know soon enough"
"Suspense, I like it" Aziza comments as she packs a few of the bags and walks ahead.::
"You've got to be joking"
I just stare at him.
"Are you serious?"
I say nothing.
"You're just pulling my legs, right?"
I raise my eyebrows.
"It's actually true?""What do you think?" I finally ask.
He groans annoyed."Why? You had to go through all that for a girl?"
I shake my head "Technically, it was a walk in the park"
"Not to me. Not to my ears. To me, you wasted your skills, time and money"I groan "I don't know how money is involved but maybe I should have kept it to myself"
He huffs resting back on the couch.Faisal and I went to the gym together. I got stuck after I kindly decided to drop him off. I couldn't say no to his wife, so she's making dinner at the moment.
