A brisk two weeks pass by, the children of the Sully clan each in their own way coming into their own among the Metkayina.

On a particularly sunny morning, Ava and Kiri relax in the shallows of the reef to have some much-needed older-younger sister time. Ava closes her eyes, relaxing in the warm water while Kiri peers down at the sand hoping to catch a few of the burrowing bugs that called the beach their home. Splashes nearby announce Ao'nung and his band of friends heading towards them. Ava pays them no mind, hoping they would just be left alone. Unfortunately, one of them spotted Kiri and convinced the entire group to come bother the two forest girls.

"What is she doing?" he laughs, elbowing his friends. "She's just looking at the sand!" Ava scowls at them and nudges her younger sister, prompting her to raise her head out of the water.

"What? Huh?" Kiri shakes the water out of her ears. "What'd you say?"

"Are you some kind of...freak?" Ao'nung motions at her entire figure. Both girls roll their eyes at him, tails flicking almost simultaneously in distaste.

"He asked if you were a freak." Another one repeats, glaring at the strangers he'd never wanted in his home.

"No!" Kiri mutters, Ava taking her arm and starting to draw them away from the boys.

"Are you sure?" Ao'nung presses. "I mean, you're not even real Na'vi." His accent is unique, like his father's, and Ava finds herself drawn to it. If he ever got his head out of his ass he would make a great Olo'eyktan in the future.

"Hey! Back off fish lips!" Ava's head snaps up as an infuriated Lo'ak stomps up to them. He brushes past without a glance, getting right up in Ao'nung's face.

"Oh look, another four fingered freak!" the teen smirks, using his height to tower over the angry forest boy. Another of his friends grabs Lo'ak's tail, eliciting a pained snarl in response.

"Don't touch me!" Lo'ak warns, quickly being flanked by the group.

"Leave us alone!" Kiri and Ava shout together, the eldest sibling tucking her younger one behind her back protectively. Appearing out of nowhere, Neteyam barges up to them and grips onto Ao'nung's shoulder, flinging the boy backwards to face him directly.

"You heard what they said, leave them alone." he speaks lowly, dangerously.

"Back. Off. Now." His eyes narrow at the Metkayina, and after a tense moment Ao'nung raises his hands in defeat, ears flicking back as he glances over at an angry Ava.

"Smart choice. And from now on, I need you to respect my sisters." The group, except for Ao'nung, hisses at the lone Na'vi. Kiri sticks her tongue out at them, Ava laughing at her expression. She reaches over to take Lo'ak's hand in her own, the male sidling close to her. Neteyam rests an arm over her shoulders on her other side, Kiri walking a head of them.

"Look at them, they're all freaks. The whole family." Ao'nung smirks at their backs, his friends laughing loudly. Lo'ak drops Ava's hand and spins around, stepping out of Neteyam's outstretched reach.

"Lo'ak." he warns.

"Nah, I got this bro." Lo'ak spares one last glance at them before striding back over to the teens.

"I know this hand is funny. Look, I'm a freak. Alien." he raises his hand up to Ao'nung, sticking his pinky out experimentally. The male laughs softly, his brain whirring trying to figure out what was going on.

"But it can do something really cool." Ava puts a hand over her mouth to hide her laughter, her body visibly shaking with mirth. Neteyam squeezes her shoulders tightly, also trying and failing to contain himself.
