Lani had gone to seek out payakan yesterday, as she refused to believe he was bad. She had learned more about him; he had a story that day, but it seemed tragic and difficult. She knew there was good in payakan, which is not what everyone makes him out to be around here, as she knew how it felt to be an outcast and how everyone judged someone's character.

Lani " ........"Lani was walking on the piers, recounting the information she had been told about payakan from tsireyo and his brothers.

Lani " Everyone is wrong about payakan, I just know he is good and not evil as everyone thinks."

Lani " If he was evil, why didn't he save me that day, and what is even going on anyways for eywa sake, I need answers."Lani soon got off the pier path and walked on the sandy beach. As she was walking, she soon spotted her grandmother and Ronal speaking with each other, and it seemed very important.

Lani " ....." Lani could understand from your hand gestures and standing postures that the conversation was earnest. Both tshaiks had noticed the girl standing there, as they soon looked towards her.

Lani " Good morning, grandmother and tshaik Ronal."

Moat " Good morning, my granddaughter."

Lani: "I'm sorry, it looks like I was airdropping on your conversation. I never intended for that, as I was walking by here and saw you both standing here."

Moat: "There's no need to worry, my granddaughter. I was not thinking that at all."

Ronal " Your grandmother speaks the truth, child, there is no need for you to worry about anything, all is well."

Lani " Thank you."

Ronal, " Your injuries from that night seem to be healing well. Come with me, child, I might have some ointment that might be able to help you." Lani had nodded her head, and her son followed after. Ronal and mo'at had also come along. As they soon reached the healer's hut and saw no one else there, Lani sat down.

Lani, " Thank you for doing this for me."

Ronal:" As tshaik, it is my duty to care for the members of my clan and others, especially the youth and elderly."

Moat " The scars will heal over the coming days, but what happened yesterday will not be easily forgotten."

Lani, " It was my fault, grandmother. I had been separated from aonung and his friends; all the extra work everyone had to do last night was all because of me."

Ronal " Young lady, I know my son well enough, and I have learned to understand when others are hiding the truth for the sake of others. You have taken the blame for my sons and their friend's actions, which also led you to be lost and hurt, but still kept them safe." Lani had looked at both tshaiks, as it was clear that ronal knew the truth of what happened at night.

Ronal: " So tell me, child, why did you take the blame for other actions at the end of the day in front of so many to see?"

Lani " I know how it feels to be a disappointment to one's parent, and their clan as well, so I didn't wish the same for aonung as well."

Moat: " You have done well. My granddaughter even took actions that many others wouldn't have taken."

Lani: " A few might see it that way, but to everyone else, once again, Lani has messed, proving she has no rights to carry either parent's name."

Ronal " Young lady, you have done more than your parents and everyone else can see, as I have seen her adapt to life and be kindhearted."

Lani " Thank you, Tshaik Ronal."

Ronal: " May I ask what else took place that day, as there seem to be more events that took place that night?"

Lani " Yes, after aonung had left me, I tried to make my way home, but creatures had attacked me, separating me from my Iiu. The beast had chased me down, and it seems. After a while, it was looking at me. I thought it was over, but another creature came to save me and chased the beast away. Everything had gone dark after that moment."

Lani " When I opened my eyes again, I was on the creature who saved me back, it was a tulkun, the one named payakan, who brought me home after I helped him."

Most " All that happened to you in one day."

Lani " Yes, it did, which led to the injuries I have now."

Ronal " Payakan."

Lani " Yes, the outcast I have been told about, your sons and rotxo didn't seem to like the idea of me being with payakan, saying it was lucky."

Lani " I told them and everyone else they were wrong about payakan, he is no killer, he had saved my life that day, he is good."

Ronal " Many believe payakan is evil for what he did that day, and have deemed him an outcast for the rest of his life. A few seem to see that the young tulkun is not evil."

Lani " I know payakan is not evil and I will respect your ways of life, tshaik Ronal, but I think everyone is wrong about payakan."

Ronal: " Moat, you are right about your granddaughter. She had a mighty heart and spirit."

Moat " Yes, she's those Ronal and that shall make her a great tshaik one day."

Lani, "I am becoming a tshaik. Everyone will make sure that doesn't happen. They would rather have Kiri or Tuk or someone like Neteyam mate become tshaik."

Moat " Then they shall deal with the decision I make, for my successor and who the great mother picks as well."

Lani " Yes, grandmother."

Ronal " Now you should run along tsireyo said he wanted to start lessons with you again and your siblings."

Lani " Thank you, but please don't take any of my words and actions, I have said now and to come as an insult, as I do mean well." Lani soon got up from her seat and showed respect toward the two tshaik as she soon left the healing hut.

Ronal " That girl shall do well in life, your family is blessed to have her, but if they act like this, they might lose her as well."

Moat: " The chances of losing her might change them for the better. I have spoken to them all, but my words fall on deaf ears."

Ronal "The world is changing, Tshaik Moat, but it seems like your granddaughter is changing along with it, too." The two tshaiks had watched a bit longer until they went on with their days. There was a change coming over time, but the two tshaik words are very true. If someone takes too long to love and appreciate someone, they might lose them in the end.
