Love or Retribution?

Chapter-19

"Oh! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?", Nikhil screamed looking at the couple who were in their deep sleep, ignorant of all the worldly problems.

"Wake up man, wake up...", Nikhil tried to wake Bhargav, but it proved to be quite difficult as Indira was sleeping in front of him, comfortably, in a spooning position, with Bhargav's arm or technically himself wrapped around her.

Nikhil looked around, took an unused pillow and started hitting Bhargav.

"Oh god, what the hell Nikhil? ", Bhargav and Indira who woke up due to the commotion screamed at him irritated as well as confused.

"Excuse me? that should be my line, How could you Bhargav? I trusted you.. ", Nikhil exclaimed in a bewildered tone, while both of them looked at him confused.

"How can you take advantage of her like this, not at all what I expected from you", he added in a disappointed tone.

"Shut up Nikhil, no body is taking advantage of anybody here, I am not a child and don't you know that it is a basic decency to knock before entering someone's bedroom? making me regret giving you a spare key", Indira intervened and murmured with irritation.

"The bedroom door was open you fools, at least have the basic decency to lock the door before... ", Nikhil stumbled.

"Oh oh! hold your horses right there, nothing happened here that created a need for us to lock the door", Bhargav shouted not liking what Nikhil was insinuating.

"Yeah, I totally believe you, at least now can you guys move away from each other? ", Nikhil said looking at Bhargav's arm that was still wound around Indira's waist making him jump out of the bed instantly.

"Oh my baby bro Nikhil, got embarrassed is it? ", Indira said in a teasing tone and played with his hair like he was a child, turning him more pink.

"Don't worry, whatever happened here was all consensual..", she added with a chuckle and winked at Bhargav, who looked at her shocked.

"Nothing happened here, Oiii, stop talking like something happened between us, trust me Nikhil, nothing happened, I didn't do anything... "

"Yeah Nikhil, we just slept together", Indira interrupted him with innocent puppy eyes and silent chuckle.

"Yeah, see, that's all.. what?... No...." Bhargav who initially agreed with her by instinct screamed no when he realized those words' actual meaning.

"We didnt sleep together, I mean we slept.. but not together.. oh for god's sake, you understand what I mean right? We slept next to each other, JUST SLEEPING, NOTHING ELSE", Bhargav added in panic stressing on 'just sleeping'.

"Po-tey-to, po-tah-to", Indira said with a smirk.

"Hey, will you shut up? Nikhil you trust me right? " Bhargav asked.

Nikhil looked at both of them confused and nodded his head in a state that he didn't even understand what for he is nodding his head in the first place.

"I seriously don't understand what is happening here, but before we get to that, how are you feeling Indira?", Nikhil asked looking at Indira but both of them failed to notice Bhargav's face changing instantly.

The word 'Indira' reminded him of all the commotions that happened in the past which the temporary peaceful sleep had put a halt to.

"I think I will leave you two to talk", he said in a calm tone and tried to walk out of the room.

"Wait, where are you going?", Indira asked with hesitation, recognizing the change in his face and voice.

Bhargav didn't reply, rather just looked at her, her face showed thousands of expressions in just a minute. He could see concern, expectation, hesitation, fear, disappointment all come and go on her face in a fraction of second, his heart melted instantly, this is how she used to be when she was a child too, before her mouth utters a single syllable her face and eyes will dance with millions of expressions.
