Yui hadn't seen Haru since the incident, and that was almost three days ago. They'd been suspended from school for running away during school hours, but Reiji still delivered notes and homework to them, so it wasn't as if they had nothing to do.

Yui was currently doing her Japanese Literature homework when the door to her room opened. Looking up, she saw Kanato standing in the doorway watching her.

"Follow me", he ordered simply.

Yui got up and followed him outside into a beautiful garden full of roses of all colors.

"Pick these ones for me, make sure you de-thorn them" Kanato gestured to a grand, old rose bush filled with roses of the deepest violet. Yui didn't say anything as she complied with the purple-haired vampire's wishes. She was in enough trouble as it was, she didn't need to add to the list, so she just obeyed every instruction.

Once she'd picked and de-thorned the best and biggest roses on the bush, she gathered them up into a bunch and waited for more instructions.

"Come with me", Kanato insisted. He led her to a cemetery. Some of the gravestones were old and covered in moss and lichen, the fact that it was night made it even creepier, however, Yui wasn't one to be scared by a bunch of old rocks with engravings on them. Suddenly, Kanato stopped.

"Graves are so deeply dark and full of the smell of death. Don't you think that's great? I love graves. They're so cold and quiet, and indifferent to terror", he lamented to Yui, "My mother lies here" he gestured to the stone he'd stopped in front of.

"I'm sorry", Yui replied simply.

"Don't be, I killed her", Kanato quipped gleefully.

"Oh", 'Of course he did', Yui honestly wasn't surprised anymore, 'Though, I wonder why. Was it something she did? Or was it one of his bipolar spells?' It could have been both.

"Would you believe that? Although it hardly matters. Right, Teddy?" he continued, "Please place those roses here".

Yui did what she was told in silence. She waited beside Kanato for what seemed like ages, before she finally broke the silence.

"Kanato? I think we should head back. Reiji might get upset if he finds I'm not in my room".

"You are very self-serving, aren't you?"

"I beg your pardon?"

"I specially invited you here, but you leave the second it displeases you. You have a lot of nerve!" Kanato snarled, picking up the roses and hitting the grave with them. Yui wasn't impressed with his temper tantrum, until she remembered she was dealing with a dangerous vampire having a temper tantrum.

'Kami-sama help me' she thought frustratedly.

"Kanato, please calm down..." she tried to reason with the man-child, but it seemed to make him even angrier.

"Don't order me around, you lousy mortal! What could you possibly understand about me?!"

"That's right! I'm just a mortal, I can't read minds Kanato. So if you want me to understand you, you're going to have to use your words", Yui stood her ground and spoke firmly. Kanato froze.

It then occurred to Yui that nobody but his brothers and maybe his parents had ever spoken to him like she just did. Her temper was going to get her into really deep shit one of these days.

"I'm sorry, I was out of place then, please forgive me?" she tried to plead before the vampire did something dangerous. However, Kanato just stood there, studying her. Eventually he sighed.

"You're right. You are just a mortal. I shouldn't expect you to understand without proper training. Perhaps I should begin right here with lesson one", Kanato's eyes flashed dangerously as he approached her. Yui swallowed nervously, but steeled herself and stood her ground.

"Get on your knees", he ordered. Yui had the urge to spit on his shoes, but she held herself together and obeyed.

"Ha-ha... Hahahaha!" Kanato began laughing insanely, "That's incredible, Yui! You should see how pathetic you look! Now crawl around in the dirt and cry like the pathetic girl you are. Then I may forgive you. Hahahaha!"

"Fine!" Yui ground out through gritted teeth.

"What did you say?"

"I. Said. Fine!" Yui was seething with rage, "Its not like anyone else can see me".

"Hah! You're a prideful one, aren't you? Pride is a deadly sin, you know" Kanato chuckled gleefully, "That's enough!" he ordered Yui to stop. He approached the platinum-haired girl, grabbing her chin and forcing her to look up at him.

"Hmmm", Kanato murmured, as he bent down to nuzzle at Yui's neck, "You smell like something I remember. Ha-ha... Hahahaha! Why is that? You smell so familiar to me. I want to taste you" pushing her to the ground, he positioned himself on top of her and was about to help himself, when he felt a finger on his lips.

"Kanato, I want to make a deal with you!"

Author's notes: Sorry for slightly OCC Kanato. Another Yui centric chapter. I hope I'm making her more likeable, anime/game Yui always irked me with with how she'd never fight back and just let people walk all over her. I want to make her seem stronger, smarter and more determined.

Another deal hay? Yui's already made a deal with Ayato, so how's she going to go making a deal with probably the most unreasonable of the Sakamaki brothers?

I'm uploading a new story so updates will probably become sporadic at best. Sorry :(

Anyways. Stay safe everyone, remember to be kind and understanding.
