Context: In the middle of the Korean War, North and South Korea get trapped in a room. As they wait for help to arrive, South Korea sees the good in her brother and tries to convince him that he's on the wrong side.

Parts of this chapter are inspired by the video above.

Notice: I am not a capitalist nor communist.

"This isn't you," South Korea said. She faced her brother, North Korea, who was facing the corner. She couldn't see his face but she knew it was cold and expressionless.

"You aren't my brother," she continued. "You aren't the brother I knew for all those years. You're not the one who I used to play pranks with. Don't you remember that?"

North Korea stayed silent. He didn't turn around to face his sister. He didn't want anything to do with her. He just stood there. South Korea was filled with anger and annoyance. The two had been arguing for over five minutes now. With each minute that ticked by, North Korea grew quieter and quieter.

South Korea continued to blabber, though. At this point she screamed.

"Give me back my brother!" She started to tear up. "Give me back NK..."

North Korea finally spoke, turning his head to the side to glance at his sister. "Don't call me that," he mumbled angrily.

"B-But..." South Korea struggled to find the right words. "But that's us. NK and SK."

North Korea's head turned back to the corner. "Not anymore," he said without any emotion.

South Korea swallowed back tears. There was no saving her brother. His mind was already corrupted. His soul was swallowed by communism.

North Korea pursed his lips. At this point, he had heard enough of his sister's chatter. He just wanted her to shut up. He wasn't stupid. He knew what South Korea was trying to do. She saw light in him, light that North Korea couldn't see anymore.

His mind was constantly in thought. None were particularly good ones. He wondered how, out of all the people in the world, he managed to get trapped in a room with his sister.

"What's under that stupid eyepatch anyway?" South Korea asked angrily, stomping her foot on the ground.

North Korea turned his head to the side again. "That's none of your business."

After a moment, South Korea spoke again, this time quieter and more sad. "What happened to you?.." North Korea stayed quiet. He didn't know what happened. Him and his sister were both living in lies.

"It's not too late, NK. We can still fix this."

"Fix this?!" North Korea finally turned around fully. "It's broken beyond repair, South Korea!"

South Korea's POV

"No! It's not broken! Don't you remember when we were younger?" I scream, tears streaming down my face. "We promised each other that we would stay together, no matter what!" My voice cracks as I finish yelling.

"Does it look like I care?"

I swallow back tears and take a deep breath. "What would mother think of you?" I shake my head as if in disbelief but all I feel is sorrow. North Korea's face doesn't move. He turns around to face the corner.

"Just leave me alone until we get out of here," he says.

But I don't stop. "Please, NK, just listen to me!"

     "Don't call me that."

"There's more to all this than you think!"

"I told you to shut up."

I shut my eyes tight. At this point I'm speaking as fast as I can. "No! I care about you! You're my brother! And I don't care what you do because I see the good in you! Please, NK-"

North Korea grabs the collar of my sweatshirt and thrusts it into the corner behind me. I fall onto the floor and my eyes fly open. All I see is my brother towering over me, looking livid.

I shrink down into the corner, wanted to dissolve into the floor. North Korea stares at me intimidatingly. "Does. It. Look. Like. I. Give. A. F*ck?"

I shake my head like a child and North Korea walks back and stares back at the corner. This is starting to get repetitive.

"If you're so strong, how about you find a way to get us out of here?" I ask.

The room is bland. Not a single piece of furniture is in sight. The walls are a disgusting green color that matches well with North Korea's uniform. There's a single grey door on one of the walls which just so happens to be locked from the outside.

I just stand in the corner, wishing time would speed up. I think back to when NK and I were on good terms. We were only kids, so gullible and naive.

We were the duo known for playing pranks. Once, when my friend, Japan, was formally surrendering for WWII, North Korea and I put a pinecone on the USA's seat before the meeting. We watched from the shadows as America sprang up from his seat upon sitting on the pinecone. His face was priceless. NK and I high-fived and giggled.

Where has he gone? This isn't my brother. This is an imposter of my brother. We used to be identical twins until he changed his flag. I could barely recognize him.

     "NK... what happened-"

     ...Click.

My heart nearly stops. My brother. Holding a gun. In my face. He doesn't even turn to look at me. I can't breathe.

"North Korea. Please. Don't do this." He turns around to look at my distressed face. I back up in panic until I hit the wall behind me. "Please, North, please! You wouldn't!" I'm squealing in fear. "Please! Don't-"

     ...Bang.

North Korea's POV

A single tear falls from my eye. I look down at my gun which rests in my shaking hands.

Is she dead? I can't tell. Probably. It's impossible to survive a gunshot to the head. Right?

I hear a door open behind me. Finally. We're rescued. I mean- I'm rescued. What a terrible time for someone to walk in here. I whip around, my one eye widening in fear.

I see the one person I don't want to see. The USA. Sh*t.

My eye follows down to his hand. Which holds a gun. Double sh*t.

He points the gun at my face. "What have you done?!" he yells. That's a good question. Please, just kill me already.

     ...Bang.

The reason the first part of the story is talking about communism in a negative way is because it is more based in South Korea's perspective.

Dang this is the most curse words I've ever used in a story!! I grand total of three!!!

Oh and what's under North Korea's eyepatch is a secret. I think I'll make a story about that soon! :)

(Btw North and South both survived the gunshots obv)
