"THIS IS STUPID! I'M DONE!" You scream as you start running up the stairs. Tony didn't come to bed last night, so you went downstairs the next morning to see him having a major hang over, trashing some inventions and getting cranky.

"Done?! Done with what might I ask?!"

"You being a complete LOSER!" You snapped. "You're low and pathetic! I can't deal with some CHILD that comes home in the morning from clubbing all night!"

"Oh that's rich coming from YOU!" He growled.

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

"You're ALWAYS possessive! I don't need some girlfriend like YOU always holding me down!"

"Well GOOD!"

"FINE!"

You had your suitcase in your hand by then. "I hope you have a shitty time without me then!"

You swear, Tony Stark is bipolar.

"Wait, no, shit, Y/N!" He started running up behind you as you make it to the front door.

"No! This is stupid, Tony! As if I didn't worry about you enough when you go out and save the world! But you do this?!" You start to open the door, but Tony slams it shut and pins you to the wall beside it.

"No, Y/N please don't. Let's talk about this." He sounded stern, but he at least lowered his voice.

"You didn't WANT to talk, remember?! Or are you that short of memory?"

"Y/N come on don't be like that if you don't want to leave then talk to me-!"

"I don't want to talk to you-!"

"Well then do you want to leave-?"

"No-! I want-!"

The two of kept interrupting each other and raising your voices over each other for a long time before Steve finally came downstairs, plugging his ears.

"Could you two PLEASE argue in a sound proof room before Dr. Banner gets more then slightly irritated??"

Reluctantly, you two agree and go up into Tony's office, quietly disagreeing with each other instead of yelling and fighting like before. Tony sat in his office chair behind his desk, while you were leaning against the table beside him, subconsciously crossing your arms to cover up more. He was looking up at you as you argued.

"Y/N I really am sorry and I don't want you to go."

"Yeah well please understand that I don't want to leave either. But I don't want to wake up in the morning someday and you're not there. I don't want to be worried sick the whole day you're out saving the world. I don't want to go into cardiac arrest each time you come home wounded or drunk off your ass."

"I get it. I know. And I'm sorry. Really. I know it would be hard but I'll try to shape up on the drinking, I promise."

"...You would actually do that?" You asked quietly.

Tony had this tiny smile on his face, as he reaches up and grips your waist, pulling you down onto his lap, with your legs hanging over the side of his chair. You quietly giggle as he held you tight, your face buried in his neck.

"Let me put it this way. If the world was ending, I wouldn't be out there trying to save it...I would be right next to you, spending the last minutes of my life with my whole world in my arms."

You started playing with the hem of his shirt collar, avoiding his gaze down on you as you focused on the cloth between your fingers, "I just...keep thinking about what Yinsen said to you...the day you escaped the Ten Rings. The day he...died."

Tony tensed underneath you, you felt it as his biceps froze. He doesn't talk much about that day he escaped. Even if it was the day he became Iron Man. Those three months of being underground, in a cave, with a bunch of terrorists really got to him. He still had nightmares about it, afraid he'd wake up and be back in that cave. You knew the pain he was going through because you were there...

You and Tony first met in that prison with Yinsen.

That's why this relationship worked so well up until now, because you both knew what you both were going through, and you shared the same pain, and you lost the same friend. Those three months changed your lives forever. But Tony promised Yinsen before he died that he wouldn't waste his life since Yinsen did such a bang up job saving it.

You duck your head further into Tony's violet dress shirt. "He said...'your a man with everything...and nothing.' I don't want you to grow old someday Tony and then think back on what he said, regretting that you never got to live your life the way Yinsen wanted you to. I watched as my best friend worked his ass off to save your life..." You tapped on your boyfriend's arc reactor embedded in his chest, "And so far you haven't done anything to keep up your end of the deal. Please don't let Yinsen die for nothing. We owe him that."

Tony's smile faded as he looked away, picking at his fingers and focusing on something else.

You sighed, "Tony. I know you blame yourself. It wasn't your fault. Remember that he wanted to die. He got what he wanted in the end. The bad guys lost that fight because he got what he wanted."

"Yeah but not what I wanted." Tony interrupted, looking back down at you, "I wanted to free him. He was down there for who knows how long and even when I almost got him out of there, he dies right in front of me."

"I know. I was there, too."

Tony sighed through his nose, gripping you tighter as the flashbacks of being in that cave takes his imagination away. His Post Traumatic Stress would kick in once in awhile and he would have panic attacks, thinking about the day his chest felt like it was burning, as Yinsen tried to take all the shrapnel out from entering his heart. He only remembered bits and pieces of it before he blacked out, but you were there the whole time, watching a poor man you didn't know yet scream in agony as your old cellmate/friend tried to save his life.

"Do you remember...what he said to us before he died?" You whispered, gently kissing Tony's neck in a comforting way.

Slowly, he nodded. He looked back to you and you noticed how the corner of his lips turned up slightly.

"He told us to stick together, no matter what."

You smile as you slither your arms around his mid section and gave him a tight hug. "So I wouldn't say you have nothing anymore like he said you did."

Tony chuckled slightly, wrapping both his arms around you and resting his chin on the top of you head.

"I am a man with everything. I am no longer a man with nothing. I have a beautiful girlfriend, a great and trustworthy team, a loyal best friend, and I am working with the most wonderful people I know..."

"I am Iron Man."
