((Comment if you're obviously excited for Captain America: Civil War! It's just so faaaaaar! Also, for who's on who's side in this chapter, I mixed it up to show you who I think will/should join who's side and I probably missed some heroes. So it's not completely accurate.))

You hugged yourself in terror and shame, watching the chaos going down below in the city of New York. You stood safely behind glass up inside Stark Tower. You wore your suit since you have recently returned from a mission, only to hear the bad news from Fury. The screams...the destruction...how can your own husband be a part of something like this?

"Y/N."

You stiffen at his voice, not yet turning around to face him. You know who will be standing next to him, and who will be standing away from him. Both sides wanting to hear your decision. You slowly turned. Tony stood on the left, behind him was the Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Clint, Deadpool, Pietro, (yes he's alive) and other superheroes you have yet to know their names. Steve stood on the right, far from your husband. Behind the super soldier stood Natasha, Wanda, Vision, Thor, Bruce, Spider-Man, and a small group of the X-Men. It broke your heart to see that the Avengers have chosen separate sides of each other. How can Nat and Clint choose separate sides of each other? Or same for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch? Was this war really worth their partner and friendship? You looked to Tony, who was the one to call you out by name. His eyes were stone cold, and he looked weary and unhappy in his battered suit, his helmet tucked under his arm.

"Let's go." He ordered you, making your breath hitch in your throat.

"You can't force her into choosing sides!" Nat snapped over at him, her arms crossed.

"Stay out of this, Romanoff!" Clint barked, reaching for his arrows threateningly.

"Barton, stand down." Steve's darkened at Hawkeye like an ant under boot (no pun intended for Ant-Man).

"We don't follow YOUR orders, Rogers." Ant-Man growled, making sure his height grew a few inches to look menacing.

"She's my wife!" Tony growled at Nat for her early threat, "She's obviously been with us this whole time!"

"So just because I'm your wife, I'm automatically having to be on YOUR side?"

Everyone turned to your voice. You have finally spoke up, since you hated it when someone spoke for you. Both Tony and Steve seemed surprised at your comment and then Steve stepped forward.

"Then who's side do you choose?"

You sighed, looking back down at the destruction below you. You already knew who's side you were on, you just had to make sure it was the right decision. You knew some others have decided not to choose sides, such as Bucky and Rhodey. But you couldn't just back down. You were a part of the Avengers, a part of SHIELD, Iron Man's wife. You had to decide. You bite your tongue and walk over to Tony, the room was silent. But you stood in front of Tony, not beside him.

"As much as I love you...I can't pick you. This is wrong, Tony. You should know that." You whispered.

You saw the look of betrayal in his eyes as you slowly backed away from him, never turning around or breaking away from his dark eyes. You backed away until you stood beside Steve, who stood rather straighter and felt more stronger to know the person who Tony trusted the most has turned her back on him and joined Roger's side. To him, he had the upper advantage with that.

You let out the breath you were holding when you felt Nat stand on the other side of you for support. You felt stronger with Steve and Nat, your two best friends, both standing on either side of you, facing your husband together.
