I sat back on the couch and covered my face.

"Are you serious?" I asked Calum. "I don't feel like I'm ready for this."

"Why do you think that?" Rayne questioned.

"Because 5 Seconds of Summer is a huge band!" I stated. "I'm just nervous that I will mess things up—"

"Alexa," Calum interrupted. "this is our first world tour! Everything will be just fine, and you are perfect for the position!"

"Yes!" Rayne agreed. "You will be perfect Alexa, and the boys are so much fun to hang out with!"

Calum looked at Rayne and gave her a kiss on the cheek. When I saw him kiss her, I don't know why, but I got a little upset. It reminded me of the way my father used to kiss my cheek when I was upset about something. He would always make me feel better by doing that. I rubbed my face to try to stop thinking about it, and I gave all my attention back on Calum.

"And the boys love hanging out with you, babe," Calum whispered to Rayne.

I got off the couch and grabbed my phone. It said that my mother called me 5 minutes ago. I completely forgot about calling my mother as soon as I got off the plane.

"Hey guys," I said. "I'm going to make a quick phone call."

I walked out of the living room into my new office. I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed my mom's number. I sat in my new office chair and waited until she picked up the phone.

"Hello?" My mother answered.

"Hey mom, how is it going?" I asked her.

"Alexa!" she answered in a nervous voice. "How is my baby doing? Are you alright? How is New York? Are you—"

I interupted her as she was asking me a buch of questions all at once.

"Mom!" I said. "I am loving it here. I am with Rayne and her boyfriend, so I am perfectly fine!"

Mom and I were on the phone for a couple of minutes until I heard a knock on the door from Rayne.

"Alexa, is everything okay in there?" Rayne asked.

I told my mother I had to go and that I had an interview I had to attend to. She asked me what the interview was for, but I quickly hung up the phone so I didn't have to tell her. I want to tell her what the meeting was for, but I also want it to be a surprise if I actually get the job.

At first, I was extremely overwhelmed about New York, and I worried about getting a job, but now I am super excited about my interview with the manager of 5 Seconds of Summer!
