Dearest Brother,
I have been receiving letters from Lord Ruthven, but the Matron has been gathering them before I can open them. I know not of what they portray and hope they have information regarding your wellbeing. The Matron has not opened the letters, I know that. But I just wish to open one to know what he wishes to tell me. You would not do this with my letters, I still do not know why she has such a strong disliking towards Lord Ruthven. You and him seem to become fast friends, I wonder why she does not wish for me to make acquaintance with him.
The ladies have begun to talk about him again, so I know that it was not my imagination the time for when I saw him in London. I have not seen him since, but many others have. No one seems to know anything about you when I ask. Worry continues to fill me. Are you alright? Are you on your way home?
If you are on your way home, then this letter may not reach you. But I will be sending it anyway incase you are still in Greece. I hope you are well. My worries will be at ease when I hear from you again, more so when I get to see you again. Please be safe brother.
