there's no one else to blame this time
don't change the truth we can't undoRosé steps furious through the hallway with her manager following desperately while the other employees get out of her way as soon as possible.
A few of them try to tell her that she won't be meeting the CEO, saying excuses to prevent her, trying to protect her from herself who is obviously acting on impulse. All of their effort fails tragically.
Knocking the door a couple times and not hearing any response, it's not possible for her to wait anymore. Racing in, Rosé opens the door, already stepping in sonorously proclaiming: "That's unfair. I don't have the right to choose which campaigns I want to do anymore?"
An ironic smile curves the lips of the man whose concentration has just gone away, now watching her rage by sitting behind his big table, "I see why you're angry…"
"I worked so well the last few years! Why does this time have to be different?" The girl ignores his hand, which gestures inviting her to sit in front of him.
"I thought you would like it", he simply says, "You and Jung Jaehyun, isn't it interesting?"
And without thinking about his last sentence, her words desperately escape her mouth: "His fans are going to eat me alive!"
A few seconds of silence until his calculated answer comes out: "You already knew about that, Park Chaeyoung."
Roseanne tilts her head to the left as she doesn't understand exactly what he means when pointing out that fear of her. Noticing her confusion, the CEO calmly slides through the table a couple of photographs.
The first one is Jaehyun, near to the company's building, "I know my artists very well, but I know our competitor's artists even better", and then shows the next photo where Rosé meets the boy outside, "You already knew about his fans' behavior, didn't you?"
She grabs the pictures cautiously observing every single detail on it. It seems to have the same angle as the security camera system spread around the neighborhood.
"Sir, this is a mistake." Calming down her voice, Roseanne moves on, "We are not together. Not anymore."
"Don't mind explaining your personal life to me, Chaeyoung." His tone is far from rispid, instead it sounds very comprehensive of him, "I won't interfere or make up fake articles about it, but anyone can do it."
"I'm sorry." The idol blurts out, surrendering completely, "I know how much you hate when some of us have a flaw. Then please, please, let me refuse this campaign to avoid any misunderstanding."
Rosé searches for his eyes, which seem empty before finding her in front of him, just then he replies coldly: "I have been thinking about it and, you know what? You should do it. Pretending to be a couple is going to be better." She opens her mouth to say something, but the CEO doesn't give any space for it to be done, moving on by saying: "Be lovely and sweet, so netizens will see you two as a good couple and, if someday these photos come out, it won't be a scandal."
"Yes, sir," Roseanne accepts her fate, "but I want to clarify that we are not dating and we are not going back together."
"Fine, fine…" The man shakes his hand like he doesn't mind, "But it is still my job to try to protect your image."
Silently, Rosé bites her own tongue, suppressing her anger without letting one single grunt of pain escape her mouth.
"I'm happy we clarified this subject. Now… I bet you are very busy just like me. Would you mind?" He points his hand to the door gently, "Have a nice day Park Chaeyoung."
