You had finally healed. Thanks to a couple of potions, magic spells and a lot of sleep. No you could finally start your classes.
You examined your schedule, and compared it with Tedros's.
"Teddy, we have forest groups, history and etiquette together. Did you see that." The two of you were caught in a conversation as you prepared for your first week of classes. You laid out your outfits and picked through them.
You had settled for a white mermaid type dress with a fur coat since the blue forest was so cold. Topped with chunky heels. "Darling blue tie or white tie" he stopped and stared at you. Then continued on with his speech about his ties.
He kept making slight looks in your direction. Staring and not staring. Longing for you, but holding back. These next few weeks of school would be hell. He wasn't able to touch you anymore.
God he just couldn't shake the feeling of your body against his when the two of you slept together. Or how you grabbed onto his shoulders as your mother tended to your wounds.
He couldn't shake the feeling that you had met before. And that all of the things you did felt familiar. He'd taken trips to Foxwood growing up and after Merlin had left he spent all his time there getting away from his father and searching for his mother. He had learned Foxwood.
And you- you weren't like the rest of them. You weren't brash and overconfident in yourself. You were quiet and reserved, and you lashed out at anyone. Not caring who they were.
Just like how you did when the two of you had first met.
You picked at his tie, putting it on properly and leading him out of the bedroom. The two of you tidied up yourselves and walked down the hallway. He smiled the entire time, no girl had ever treated him like that. No one ever treated him like he was a real person. But you did.
Even if he didn't truely know where you came from, or what happened in your past. He would still wait until the end of time for you.
"Tedros, sword training is there, where are you going?"
He chuckled "I'm walking you to class my love" you smiled and hid behind your hair. He grinned proudly, at all the jealous stares of boys who wanted you but we're now unable to have you."Teddy, this is my class. I'll see you in etiquette, okay"
He placed a kiss on your hand and started on his way to class. You blushed like a mad man. Once you had situated yourself, you sat in your seat and placed your coat on the back of your seat before grabbing your pocket mirror to fix your hair. Since a few curls had come loose.
Beatrix looked at you and then in her mirror at herself. What did Tedros see in you? Was it because you were pretty? She was pretty! Was it because you caught his rose, it was supposed to be hers. She was supposed to catch that rose, she was supposed to be his queen.
You, you belonged across the most with the other evil kids. That's why you were at Arbed House wasn't it. Because you were the greatest evil and your mother just couldn't admit it.
Beatrix shook her hair puffing her curls back out and smirked 'If they want a villain for a queen, I'm gonna be one like they've never seen." She was going to say something to you when Professor Anemone walked in and stopped her.
Professor Anemone was an extravagant woman, who sometimes had a habit of seeming a little, Out there. She bounced in the classroom happily. Showing off what looked like a peacock cosplay. You couldn't help but laugh.
I mean weren't teachers supposed to be professional? Or was that just a Foxwood thing. You didn't know since Foxwood was all you knew.
She took one look at you and smiled saying "Not all of you need work then" under her breath before directing her attention to the rest of the class.
She started on her first lesson 'Making Smiles Kinder'
"The key to a smile is communicating the emotions through your eyes" and demonstrated a smile not breaking character for a moment. You mimicked her smile along with everyone else, mumbling a spell under your breath to make your teeth shine a little more. "Ease it on the squinting .... Less nose scrunching, dear" She turned to you and Beatrix. Her smile now beaming. "Wonderful! Absolutely gorgeous my dears. But there is only one first place Rank in this class" she turned to face the other girls then launched into a speech on how only the truest smiles could win a prince.
But you already had yours so you weren't worried.A golden, glittering, '1' appeared over your head. And a dullen silver '2' over Beatrix.
Once again You had stolen her place in this school. She couldn't risk it happening again. But luckily for her and unfortunately for you, you guys shared a dorm together."Ah, and that is the bell my loves. I will see you all tomorrow. Kiko practice on keeping your nose unscrunched. Millicent no more squinting. Y/n, Beatrix the two of you were simply wondrous!"
You couldn't help but smile bigger and brighter. Sure you had cheated, but it was just a little white lie. And you could make your teeth shine naturally. It just needed a bit of work.
Tedros was standing against the door waiting for you, alongside him Chaddick and Tristan. Both of them there to walk their princess to Pollux's class being as Etiquette was a mixed subject.
"Love, we're going to be late, we have to leave now" you shook Tedros's shoulder as he hadn't realized you were behind him.
"Oh, yes. Lets go love. Chaddick, Tristan we'll finish this later. Perhaps even with a sword fight quickly"
Etiquette, taught by Pollux, was horrible. He had arrived in a bad mood, wadding with his massive head attached to puny goat carcass muttering about how Castor got the body that week. The same way he did every week. He looked up to see all 60 students gaping at him.
"Well, I thought I was teaching royalty. And yet all I see is ill-mannered children gaping like toads. WELL ARE YOU TOADS?" Everyone shook their heads scared of angering him anymore "Do you cath flies with your pink tongues?" Everyone looked away and attempted to engage in conversation with each othe.
The first lesson was "Posture" which involved the girls descending the four tower staircases with Nightingale nests balanced on their heads. And the prince's had to walk the four stair cases Balancing buckets full of water with the sticks placed on their shoulders.
Most of the girls succeeded without breaking eggs. And most of the boys managed not to spill any water.
But you struggled. Having suffered from horrible posture your entire life you were accustomed to slouching. You could only imagine how shocked everyone was when you had dropped your nests. Five times. Twenty nightingales that would not live to see life because of you.
Class ranks appeared over all the girls heads. Beatrix 1st and you looked up to see a rusted 60 over your head. Your eyes pooled with tears and you hid your face behind your hand.
Embarrassed with your low rank. "Love, it's alright. You tried, that's what's important. It's not like your failing all your classes right?" You looked up at him. Your makeup streaking and pulled away from him.
How could he be so calm right now. Out of the entire class you were dead last. How could you be a Princess if you continued like this. You couldn't be his queen. A failure that's what you were, and he should be treating you as such.
You shook away from him onec more and ran out of the room. Which was a horrible idea really. Because in the end you ahd to go back to the hall inorder to reach your dorm.
You were in Purity 66 on the very top of the tower. You ran up the stairs after you made your way back into the hall. Tedros was the only there, he was waiting for you. Hoping that you would come back to him. But you didn't. You pushed past him and ran to your dorm. Unfortunately for you, your heel fell off.
And once again you were so embarrassed you didn't even try to get it back.
