{Someones pov}
He'd been asleep for 30 minutes, 30 minutes and he was already tossing and turning and just about displaying every negative emotion you can think off. That's the kind of effect nightmares have on you.
For the past 3-4 weeks he's been having these unimaginable re-occurring nightmares, he can't seem to shake them off. Usually they consist of a fear of his, such as death or heights. sometimes they can differ though, and tonight was hell for him.
Tonight's memorable nightmare was a twisted mess. The poor boy had to choose between his family and a fellow bandmate, not knowing who the bandmate was shouldn't have changed anything, but it did. He woke up before he could choose, but to him, It didn't matter where it ended, it was torture either way.
He woke up with a shock. He was jolted upwards, like how you see it in cartoons. He was sweating, breathing like he had just ran a marathon, a mix of all the emotions, it wasn't a nice sight. He remembered everything, so he can add that to his list of things to panic about later and toss that to the side for now.
He calmed himself down, remembering a little technique he had taught himself during his teenage years: Breathe. Inhale for four, hold for four, exhale for four. It's been scientifically proven to calm your nerves pretty fast, and yes, it works in real life.
(Round of applause for my therapist telling me the breathing technique 👏👏👏)
He sat on the edge of his bed, staring into nothingness waiting for his alarm to ring. He wasn't even entirely sure what time it was, but he was willing to wait it out without sleep for the rest of the night. His room was dark, which irritated his eyes the slightest bit, so he flicked on the small chain of fairy lights that lined his bed, illuminating enough of the room to know that he was in fact in his bedroom and not in that warehouse that appeared in his dream. Silence drowned the place, so much so that Hyunjin could easily hear the late night traffic outside beginning to pick up again as time went on. He didn't mind it though, he found it relaxing.
Bored, he stood up, waiting for a few seconds to let his vision clear and his legs to stop wobbling. He slowly stumbled his way over to the floor to ceiling window on the outside wall to his room, ripping open the curtains. His room was on the second floor of the house, however, his room was at the back of the house which was situated at the edge of a hill, meaning no houses or anything was blocking the view of the city. Of course, Hyunjin always preferred that one rooftop he ventured to from time to time, but he'd settle for anything that gave him the slightest feeling of happiness. He could stand and stare at the lights for hours on end. The city always gave him the feeling of comfort.
(Lets say this is the view from his window, the house is on a totally real hill)
Unfortunately, He's never really allowed into the city because the company have always said it's risky, mainly because of the amount of people and the crowded streets it could be dangerous for idols. One day though, one day he'll visit every city he can. May it be alone or with someone, He'll do it.
