"Obsession fetches superiority and defence unless it's unhealthy."
Ishita slammed the door open of her mansion to find her parents seated on the couches. They immediately stood up seeing her and they seemed concerned and tensed.
"Where were you, Ishu? Julie informed us that you haven't been in the house since the previous night. You didn't inform anything about your certain disappearance. We have been looking for you for the past 2 hours after coming back from our buisness trip. Do you know how much worried we got?" Mrs. Sinha came forward to go near her daughter who apparently had no mood to say anything. Ishita looked at them with emotionless face.
"Exactly, where were you dear? I have even called your friends to ask about you and they said that you were not there with them. You didn't even inform us." Mr. Sinha stood up furrowing his eyebrows.Ishita looked up to meet her eyes with her parents who were anxious. But she was not in any state to reply to them. The scenes of previous night to today's morning how she had spent with Raghav replayed infront of her eyes and her eyes instantly filled up with tears.
"What happened, Ishu? Why are you crying ?" Her father asked when he noticed her teary eyes. She glanced at him but chose not to say anything in response. Her throat tightened and she felt a sudden heavy burden on her chest. Without giving them further chance to interrogate her, she sprinted upstairs quickly making a run for her bedroom. Her parents looked at each other making a quick communication with each other by giving nods. They knew that when their daughter was upset or worried about something, she needed some space for herself. When she would be fine, she herself would come around and cofide about whatever was bothering her. Little did they know that this time, this was not some tiny issue which would be solved very easily like usual.
Ishita slammed the door shut and locked it from inside. Her brain and mind were processing what had happened just some times ago. Her heart ached with the rejection. She threw herself on the bed and buried her face in her pillow letting her tears flow from her eyes.
She couldn't believe that she had been rejected. Not to mention, she got her first rejection in her life. None had rejected her. None had rejected Ishita Sinha. How could Raghav reject her? She was beautiful, had a nice figure, she was even good in academic and she knew many extracurricular activities. She had been always nice to him and she had always behaved well with him. Moreover she had money. Isn't that what everyone needed to settle down? Then why couldn't he like her? She had everything a person needed. Then what did she lack that he couldn't accept her proposal? She was frustrated, furious and disappointed.
After some time, she got up from her bed and looked around the room. She erased her tears with the back of her palm. Her eyes darted to the huge mirror placed on the wall. She scrutinized herself from head to toe with narrowed eyes.
"Am I not beautiful?" She asked staring at her reflection as if it would assure her that she was a definition of beauty and Raghav would accept her.
"Isn't what everybody says ? They say that I am beauty with brain. Then what do I lack that he can't like me?" She questioned herself with her heart beating loudly in her chest.
