~*~ Louis (continued)~*~

It’s the end of January when Louis receives a text while he’s cooking dinner with Harry. Harry glances at the screen and tenses, a frown marring his features.

“Who’s it from, Haz?” Louis asks as he continues kneading the ingredients into the meat for their dinner.

Harry picks up the phone and places it on the counter by Louis and walks out of the room. Louis quickly washes his hands and picks up his phone to find out what Harry had gotten so upset about.

Can we meet up? Somewhere we can be alone.

Shit. Why the hell is this kid texting him? He follows the path Harry had taken from the kitchen to his room and comes to a stop when he finds Harry picking up clothes and shoving them into a bag, tears streaming down his face.

“Where are you going, love?” Louis asks softly.

Harry shoots him a look indicating he thinks Louis might be a bit daft. “Where do you think? I’m going to my dorm.”

Louis scratches his jaw as he studies Harry though squinted eyes. “Why would you do that?”

“I’d think it’s pretty obvious, right? I’m giving you time to meet him alone,” Harry answers trying unsuccessfully to stifle his pout as he continues shoving clothes into the bag.

Louis crosses his arms and leans against the doorframe. “Are you quite done?”

“Yeah, I’m done. Do whatever it is you do.” Harry waves his hand toward Louis’ bed. “We both knew I would never keep your attention for long.” He zips his bag and pushes past Louis, exiting the room.

Louis grabs Harry’s wrist and stops him before he even gets a full step into the hallway. “Don’t leave like this. You know it’s nothing like you’re thinking.” He thrusts his phone in Harry’s face. “Open it. Read the texts.” Harry doesn’t move to take the phone, but he doesn’t try to leave either. “Take it.”

Harry remains motionless, refusing to look at Louis. “I can’t do that.”

“You can. You know you can. My phone isn’t off limits to you, and you know that. But let me do it for you if it makes it easier.” Louis unlocks his phone, opening his texts with Dylan, and begins to read.

Dylan - October 1

Guy from Jungle/Scavenger Hunt

 Dylan – October 2

Just so you know going commando all night chafed like a bitch.

 Louis – October 2

Sorry about that, mate. We won though.

 Dylan – October 30

Do you have plans for Halloween? We could go to this costume party I know of.

 Louis – October 30

Sorry. Work.

Louis scrolls through continuing to read the inane text conversations to Harry until he pauses at the most recent texts and shoves his phone into Harry’s hand. Harry reluctantly thumbs slowly over the screen as he reads.
