~*~ Louis (continued) ~*~
Louis, Harry, Gemma, and their mom return to the conference room and make themselves comfortable. Harry returns to his position in Louis’ lap, sitting in the vee of Louis’ spread legs. Once they are settled, Louis buzzes Tristan who then escorts Harry’s dad and Rayne inside shortly after.
“I apologize for the break. I had some things to attend to. I hope you found the accommodations to your satisfaction during the delay. Please proceed with your presentation,” Louis says once they are seated opposite them.
Harry’s dad clears his throat. “Harry was to take lead on this matter, but since it’s obvious by his position that he is in no state of mind to handle it effectively, I will.”
Harry’s dad goes on to present his pitch for how his company would like to partner with Markum. Louis sifts through the previously discarded folder and follows along. His eyes trail over the numbers, and when Harry’s dad finishes, Louis states firmly, “Thank you for your interest in partnering with Markum, but at this time, I am going to decline.”
“That’s absurd! Who do you think you are? Do you have any idea what you are doing? That proposal will benefit you more than any of the others you have partnered with before, and you know it. Just because you’re fucking my son, doesn’t mean you can ignore the good of the company.”
Louis tosses the folder onto the table in front of him. “I’m pretty sure from what I saw in there, fucking your son is exactly what you were offering to make this deal happen. Let me make this clear for you. Even if I wasn’t in a relationship your son, which by the way I am…” Louis slips his hands up and fingers the collar at Harry’s neck before continuing. “Offering him up to me like this wouldn’t have changed my mind when it comes to your proposal. I don’t know how you have done business with others in the past, but it won’t work with me.”
Harry’s dad barely stifles a snort. “You haven’t even looked at it more than a few seconds. If you look at the numbers, you will see increased revenue for both of our companies.”
“Yes. I saw the numbers you projected,” Louis calmly maintains. “I don’t believe they accurately depict a promising partnership.”
“You’re wrong. Read them again,” Harry’s dad demands.
Louis smirks at the man. “I have a good memory. I don’t need to see them again. You project an increase in revenue of 91% for our companies equally, which first, I should point out isn’t feasible. Markum’s total net worth exceeds your company’s net worth by £2,896,438,767 give or take a few pounds depending on how today’s numbers close out at the end of the day. There’s no way your company can increase revenue for Markum at that percentage. Your company also currently spends £1,643,984 on employee salaries. Your markup shows those salaries are not projected to increase over the next ten years; however, your own salary shows a considerable increase of about 89%. If you need an exact number, it’s 89.4387%. So again, I respectfully decline your offer.”
Harry’s father bangs his fist onto the table. “I won’t stand for this foolishness.”
Louis holds up his hand. “Please let me continue.” When he has the man’s attention, he speaks again his voice brooking no argument. “In addition to the rejection of the partnership, Harry will no longer be in attendance for any future meetings with you or your company. Both he and Gemma will be distancing themselves from you, your company, and all subsidiaries effective immediately.”
