People always say that it's impossible for both alpha and omega live in one place together but not really 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟. It might probably be true if it's not Alhaitham and Kaveh. As one is too calm and aloof that people think he might be having problem with the department 'down' there. Meanwhile, as nonchalant as Kaveh is, he knows how to draw a line. Most importantly, they are comfortable with their current arrangement until one day Alhaitham notices things.
It seems somehow he always misplaces his laundry. One of the t-shirt he put in the dryer was missing when he took back the laundry the next day, but miraculously it shows up in his wardrobe the next day, all folded perfectly just as he usually does. He has a guess of course, particularly involving his omega roommate. It is easy for him to confront Kaveh, but Alhaitham is not one to do so without evidence.

Therefore, he let thing as it is. No one is harmed anyway. Besides, it will be funny if one day he later catch the thief in action.
He just never expects to catch it like this.

That day, he went home a bit earlier than usual and didn't inform Kaveh just because. No, he absolutely doesn't have any hidden agenda, it is purely just because he thinks Kaveh will be busy with the projects. Apparently it might be the case as the blonde is nowhere to be found when he closed the front door. Kaveh often welcomes Alhaitham and asks about the latter's day to which Alhaitham answers that nothing changes, just usual routine day.
When he steps bit further into their apartment, Alhaitham realises there's something in the air — a scent, a 𝑝ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑒. He growls in reflex. Something is screaming inside him. He let himself following the scent until he stops in front of his own bedroom. The alpha inside him is growling, is going feral for each second he takes the scent in.
𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥. 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘍u𝘤𝘬 𝘩𝘪𝘮. 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘵.
So many things are running inside his mind right now. He almost kicks the door open and pounds, but he tries to restrain himself. Taking a deep breath while counting 1 to 100 or anything. After finally calming himself, he decides to turn the knob and open the door slowly. The room is dark, save for the bedside lamp that was on.
There are piles of clothes —his clothes in his bed. Having a glimpse idea of what happen, Alhaitham is still not prepared of what he sees. There in his bed are piles of his clothes, some that he just put this morning for tonight's laundry, some that are still new from his wardrobe, some just finished from the dryer it seems.
In the middle of those lied down Kaveh, his roommate, eyes closed. His omega roommate is wearing short pants showing his bare legs. Alhaitham wonders if they are as soft as he imagines it. His eyes trail upwards to Kaveh's face. The omega is currently hugging the t-shirt that he wore the night before, one that still has his scents and sweats probably.
(It's quite hot in summer anyway!)
It feels like his breath is taken away, as cliché as it sounds.
The way Kaveh embraces his t-shirt like it's him —
The way Kaveh smiles in peaceful, sleeping between the piles of his cloth.
Alhaitham is not sure how he should feel but overwhelmed—in a satisfying way. He's standing still beside his bed for a while. Observing how Kaveh's mouth twitches sometimes. Or when the eyebrows frown as Kaveh is thinking of something. Not forgetting the smile that plastered in his roommate's face. "Mmm." Kaveh groans as his eyes start to open up. He blinks many times, trying to adjust with the light.
𝐶𝑢𝑡𝑒. 𝑉𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑐𝑢𝑡𝑒
Alhaitham can't stop his lips for curving a smile. "Kaveh," he finally calls. He never notices it before, but the name sounds beautiful in his mouth, like it's meant to be.
"Oh shit shit," Kaveh is panicking. He scrambles himself to sit up, but still clings to Alhaitham's t-shirt.
"Gosh, Alhaitham sorry I don't mean —" he mumbles, trying to apologise or anything.
It goes to deaf ears as Alhaitham is staring intensely. "You're making a nest?" He finally says after Kaveh is quiet for few moments. The omega was nervous, he could tell from the scent. He doesn't want to make Kaveh nervous or even scared. He is just simply curious.
"I'm sorry, oh my, I'm sorry - it just, I'm - there's your scent and by then I just —"
"You're also the one who takes my laundry before, aren't you?"
Kaveh's cheeks reddened and Alhaitham wonders if they are squishy. The look so pinch-able and he thinks if they will taste that good too. Slowly, Kaveh nods to the answer, burying his head in the t-shirt that he is holding. Alhaitham has never been jealous of a t-shirt until now. He nods. "I see."
"Are —" Kaveh gulps. "Are you mad?"
Alhaitham looks like he's thinking, but actually he just enjoys seeing Kaveh quivers under his stare. "Do you want me to?" He asks instead.
"No, but I mean — I understand if you're mad, I'm —"
"You're nesting," he interrupts. Kaveh nods again. "With my clothes and my scents," Alhaitham states again. Since there's no answer from Kaveh, he pertubs again. "Why?"
"Ah urm that —" Kaveh is mumbling. He's very anxious right now. "That you — it smells nice..." he finally answers. Alhaitham raises his eyebrow.
Kaveh continues, "You smell nice and I — I don't want to make you feel it's weird. I — I actually am going to put everything back before you came back, but it just — it looks comfy and nice and you smell so good. So I — but urm yeah."
Alhaitham just stares without any indication that he wants to reply to Kaveh's statement. The omega is twitching nervously again, like a prey in front of their predator. "I get it if you're disturbed by this, I can move out if you want..." Kaveh finally ends his rambling. Out? Alhaitham never wants to get rid of Kaveh. No. He just wants to know why and apparently Kaveh thinks he smells nice? That's good.
It seems that his silence makes Kaveh feels like he has to say something. Kaveh cannot stop rambling from apologising to moving out. He finally stop when Alhaitham cups his chin. "It's fine," he says. "If you want my clothes, it's fine. You can use it. I'm fine."
There's another heavy silence between them before Kaveh blushes as he nods to Alhaitham's statement. He quickly gathers himself to fold Alhaitham's clothes and reluctantly left the t-shirt that he has been clinging on. He will have to make ado from then on to sleep without his nest. Alhaitham stops him before he gets out from the alpha's room. "You're always welcomed to make a nest with my clothes." He says. "And I don't mind to sleep next to you should you need it."
Oh Kaveh's face is burning, Alhaitham can tell. Looks even cuter with the mumblings. Kaveh just nods again and quickly rushes out from Alhaitham's room, leaving behind his calming scent. That night, Alhaitham sleeps like a log.
—
They don't talk about it afterwards, but Alhaitham is true to his words. He purposely will leave his laundry for a day longer and if he notices anything missing, he's not saying anything. And when one night, there's a knock in his bedroom, he welcomes the intruder inside. No question asked.
If after then they develop of habit of sleeping together once in a week, which then leads to awakening of their rut and heat colliding with one another, no one says anything.
They just spend it in their own respective bedroom after all like usual. One little different is they now bring each other's cloth somehow to get through their heat/rut. And once it's done, the nesting and the sleeping together come back again like it's a natural habit for both of them.

If later on Dehya spurts her matcha green latte to Kaveh's face when he tells her about this arrangement, she teases him that he finally gets his deed done, it's another story to tell.
One that might involve the kissing, sucking, knotting, breeding and cuddling session.
