Can you tell I'm still recovering from being sick? Ugh

It was a commotion coming from downstairs that let me know that Ichigo's training had started. Judging from the sounds, he was facing Ururu's inhuman blows. For a human, the girl was incredibly dangerous. If she was human, anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if she was a mod soul or something.

Ichigo was at the last day of school yesterday, and I had spent the day thinking of ways to break it to Ichigo that I was a shinigami. Ultimately, I decided to just rip the metaphorical bandage off and show him, although I wouldn't be telling him everything. It wasn't entirely my story to tell, after all.

I made my way down to the the training area and found where Urahara, Tessai and Jinta were. The three of them were watching Ururu chase Ichigo around, not that I blamed him. It was funny to watch.

"Already started training?"

Urahara slightly turned towards me, and I could see his eyes go over my body. I had finally decided to get rid of my shinigami Shihakusho, instead opting for more modern clothes. A pair of black form-fitting pants made of a stretchy material, flat black boots, and a white turtleneck sweater with a black high neck top underneath.

"I was wondering when you were getting to get rid of the robes"

"I was sentimental. I got over it" I shrugged and looked over at Ichigo again, just as he dodged another punch from Ururu. "Still hasn't figured it out yet?"

"No, but he's getting there"

"He figured out how to put on the headgear without getting killed, at least"

"Aunt Enka?!" Oh, Ichigo noticed me. He had stopped and was staring at me.

"Idiot! Don't look away from your opponent!" I yelled out, and was followed by his scream as Ururu sent him flying again. "Blessed with strength, but not alot of brains"

"Isn't that typical of you Shiba's?" Urahara grinned.

"Shut up" I huffed and crossed my arms. Although he wasn't too far off. Because they were nobles, the Shiba's were blessed with high reiryoku. However, we thought too much with our hearts instead of our heads, Shiba men especially.

"Oh, he figured it out"

He was right, Ichigo had stopped running and had started retaliating. Ururu was dodging all his blows, but he was trying at least.

"They figure it out eventually" I shrugged. "Ichigo is good at adapting"

"Another Shiba trait, I assume"

"No, that's a Kurosaki one. It took my a while to adapt to the human world when I came here. Masaki, however, adapted real quick to her new life after what happened"

Urahara was about to say something, but the both of us froze when we saw Ichigo's fist graze Ururu's cheek. Blood escaped the cut,  and Ururu's eyes changed.

"Shit"

Before Ichigo could so much as blink, Ururu was standing  on top of outstretched arm, leg raised prepared to kick him. I flinched as I saw her foot make contact with his head. He was lucky Tessai had managed to catch him and took most of the damage when they hit a rock, and that Urahara had stopped Ururu before she continued her attack.

The girl was a monster.

"Hey Ichigo! Are you okay?" I yelled out to him.

"Y-Yeah..." he replied, still a bit stunned. I didn't blame him. I'm surprised he still had an intact skull. Once he recollected himself, he got up. "Again, please!"

"Congratulations!" Urahara said cheerfully, much to Ichigo's confusion. "Lesson one, cleared!"

"Huh? Why? I lost to her, didn't I?"

"Oh, I didn't say a thing about knocking Ururu out to clear lesson one"

"But.."

"After all," Urahara interrupted. "She has the fighting skills to counter a shinigami. There's no way a human soul can beat her. By the way, are you still having trouble breathing?"

The question made Ichigo jump a bit, and he checked himself out before he answered. "Huh, now that you mention it.."

"Which means the restoration of your spiritual energy was a success. This lesson was a one shot battle, whether you could dodge the first attack or not. Spiritual energy increases fastest when the soul is in danger of being destroyed.  If you can raise your spiritual energy significantly, then you can dodge the punch and it's all good!"

"And if I didn't?" Ichigo asked hesitantly.

"You would have died"

"Why didn't you say so first?" He snapped, clearly irritated. Not that I blamed him.

Urahara smirked."I had faith... that you would succeed. Now then, your spiritual energy is back. Let's celebrate, and..."

Before Urahara finished speaking, I had flash stepped between the two of them, surprising Ichigo. I unsheathed my zanpakuto from it's place on my hip, and brought it down on Ichigo's chain of fate, breaking it.

"Time for lesson two!" I grinned as I stepped back, meeting Ichigo's shocked eyes.

"Aunt Enka, what the hell?" Ichigo stuttered as he stared at me.

"Sorry Ichigo, but it's completely necessary"  I rested the dull end of the zanpakuto on my shoulder, watching as Tessai came up from behind and proceeded to shove Ichigo onto the ground and sat on him.

"Hey! Get off me!" He started to struggle, but he had no hope of getting the larger man off of him.

"That ain't gonna help kid" I snorted at him. "You're only going to end up hurting yourself"

"I'm gonna die" He wheezed out.

"Precisely!" Urahara chirped. "Once the chain of fate is broken, you can no longer return to physical body.  You'll just die"

Ichigo's eyes snapped over to me, and I felt a twinge of pain at the betrayal I saw in them. "It's necessary" I said softly. "Real shinigami don't have bodies anymore, so if you want to be a shinigami again.. this is the only way"

"Now, that chain will begin encroachment at the point of severance, and when it reaches your chest, you will become a hollow and that'll be the end"

"What?"

"Of course there's a way to stop that" I said. "You have to become a shinigami before that. That's the goal of lesson two, once you finish that, you'll be a shinigami again"

"Of course, what you choose is entirely up to you" Urahara piped up,  playing with that fan of his.

Ichigo smirked in reply. "You already know that answer" He then turned his gaze towards me. "And when I'm done, you're going to explain everything to me"

"I promise, kid" I grinned, just as a hole appeared beneath him and Tessai, causing the two of them to fall with Ichigo's screams trailing as they went.

I moved closer to the edge and gazed down, they were falling for longer than I expected they would. "That's rather deep, isn't it?"

"I tried my best" Ururu piped up, shovel in hand.

"You definitely did" I patted her head, grinning as I heard them reach the bottom.

"Do you think he'll manage?" Jinta asked, peering down the hole.

"Of course I do" I scoffed. "He's my nephew, after all. And all my nephews are exceptional"
