How you two met

I am so excited to release this preference book! I absolutely love OBX and thought why not write a preference book for it. This one will be set up exactly like all my others.

John B
You two met at a beach party.

It was a typical Saturday night. Another party where both Kooks and Pouges would pretend to get along. While you were a kook and have always been a kook, you felt for the pouges. And honestly, you longed to be one of them. The freedom they had and the unity they had with family and friends. You loved your family, but in all honesty, you knew they wouldn't die for you the way the pouges would die for each other. 

And then everything changed for you. The night Rafe Cameron tried hitting on you, forcing himself on you at that party. And while everyone else was turning heads pretending not to see, John B saved you. He had no idea he wasn't just saving you from Rafe Cameron. But he was saving you from yourself and the miserable life you were living. 

Sarah
You met through mutual friends

You've been friends with John B and the gang for years. While you and Sarah both hated hurting him by expressing and exploring your feelings for each other, you couldn't help it. You were there for her through all the family trauma. You held her while she was crying when John B chose his father and the treasure over her. You helped her find herself when she was lost. 

After everything, you two fell in love. And while the group was skeptical at first, they soon grew to love your relationship. 

JJ
The true friends to lovers. 

You and JJ grew up together as pouges. Your family lived only a couple of houses down from JJ's. You grew up hearing the fighting and then later tending to JJ's wounds and tears. Growing up together with trauma of him having an abusive dad and you having your mom dying from cancer, you bonded and created your own little safe space and family. 

When you turned 13 and he 14, you two realized your true feelings for each other were a deeper love than being best friends. You two were soulmates.

Kiara
Treasure hunting

You knew about the group before all the crazy treasure-hunting happened. They were the popular group within the pouge community. As an outsider with not a lot of friends, you wanted to be in the inner group more than anything. You knew it was your time when the group needed your help to decipher something to find the gold. 

You hit it off with the boys. Them becoming like your brothers. Sarah and Cleo became like your sisters. Kiara on the other hand was one who took a while to warm up to. However, for you, every time she looked your way you got butterflies. 

Pope
Through Kiara

Your family moved to OBX during your freshman year of high school. Your father was filthy rich so you moved into a house on Figure 8. This of course labeled you as a kook. 

You met Kiara at her parent's restaurant. The two of you hit it off seeing as you were both the same age and both kooks not wanting to be kooks. She introduced you to her friend group with the pouges and you immediately felt at home. And with Pope, it was a feeling of home mixed with freedom.

Topper
You met out and about

He was gassing up his car while you were strolling through on your skateboard. You stopped to pick up an iced coffee, your obsession, for the day. Topper made a comment about Pouges. Something stupid about how they shouldn't be allowed to stop at the same gas stations as the kooks. You turned slowly and looked at him. If looks could kill, he'd be on the floor. "Wanna say that again?" You shouted over to him. He swallowed hard and looked away. You rolled your eyes. Funny how he could talk a big game but when it came to it, he didn't have a bite nearly as big as his bark.
