I lift my hand, pressing it against his chest. "We can't..." I say looking at the ground. He takes my arm off his chest and lifts my chin up with his hand, "What's stopping us my love?" He speaks. Slowly leaning in towards each other, our lips hovering by over each other our breathe synchronize and my body starts to heat up- BEEP BEEP BEEP! I open my eyes suddenly at the loud noise, I groan and turn my alarm clock off. "What the hell was that dream.... And who was that..." I say under my breath, I remember what happened in the dream... just not who was in it. I shrug and stretch my arms before getting out of bed before someone barges into my room. "RHIA! ITS ALMOST TIME TO GOO AND YOU AREN'T EVEN DRESSED YET!" Alayna screams at me. I look over at my alarm clock and realize I set it an hour late. "Shit..." I quickly brush my hair and teeth and grab my phone before running out the door with Alayna. We were going to a kegger, i heard it was going to be a big one since it was the first one of summer. I wasn't the most excited because I knew I would have to see a certain someone there. God if I could avoid them my whole life I would. But it's impossible when they're my boyfriends best fucking friend.... "Wanna walk? Since you live on the beach it's pretty close. And the weather is nice?" Alayna states. I knew even if I said no, she would make me walk so I nod and follow her. I stayed up late last night, so I woke up late and by time I was ready to go it was around 5.... Kinda sad. We arrive in maybe 5-10 minutes and see already a bunch of people, a lot of kooks, pogues and tourists. Me and Alayna were kooks, now we weren't snobby and rude like most, me and my dad owned probably the cheapest figure 8 house, and I was humble, so I made friends with kooks and pogues. "I'm going to go talk to some people are you alright?" Alayna says already starting to walk away backwards. I laugh, "yes yes go!" She nods and walks away. I scan the crown to find one of the only people I'm here for, topper. "Boo!" Someone hugs me from behind, "I was looking for you" I laugh before turning around. "Well, I'm right here" topper says before giving me a kiss on the cheek. "You look gorgeous tonight, Rhia." Topper says looking me up and down and my heart flutters. "Why thank you, you look ok I guess..." I give him a quick scan then we both start to laugh. I groan whenever a figure appears behind topper. "Rafe! Just the man I was looking for." Topper says putting his arm around Rafe. "That's my que to leave." I roll my eyes and start to walk away when Rafe grabs my arm. "Not so fast, you still owe me $20 miss valiant." Rafe says with a laugh. "Fuck off Rafe" I hear Rafe gasp and clutch his heart. We all laugh as I walk away. Rafe has his moments, like right now. But trust me he's the devil. Ever since 4th grade, Rafe decided to make my life a living hell. Though it may have been my fault whenever I accidentally tripped him in front of his crush. But God what he did was 10x worse!!! He would tell every single boy that I would pee my pants at night which I certainly didn't. So there went my chance with any boy. Since Rafe is a year older, he was a freshman before me in high school. Finally, I was in 9th grade and oh my god, my first day of school, I walked past his group of friends, and he proceeded to say these exact words "oh yeah, stay away from Rhia, I heard she was absolutely crazy." He and his friends start to laugh, lucky for me that was the year I actually started getting pretty. So even though Rafe tried his hardest, I fit in fine I even had a few boyfriends, but they never lasted. They would all say something like "blah blah blah your friend is crazy" but I don't really know who they were talking about. I wasn't friends with anyone that was out of the ordinary. "Rhia." Alayna says snapping me back to reality, I turn my head to face her. "Yeah?" I question. "I don't know if you wanted to hear this, but topper is absolutely wasted and.... He's flirting with some stuck-up kook." She says in a sad tone looking at me. I wasn't shocked, it happened all the time. Topper flirts' blah blah blah he apologizes and we're fine again. "God okay where is he." Alayna points her head to a group of people, and we walk over there. I spot topper with his hand on a girl's thigh. "Topper." I say, he looks up at me, "What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy" he says, his worlds slurred by how much he drank. The girl laughs, "Why are you still standing there?" The girl says with attitude, "why are you still standing there?" I mock her attempting to copy her annoying voice. Alayna laughs and the girl gets visibly upset and storms off. Topper gets up and walks to me, barely walking in a straight line. "I'm sorry babe" he says kissing my forehead. I want to be mad; I should be. But... I can't bring myself to it. "It's alright" I smile at him. I glance around and spot Rafe staring at me, the way his eyes pierced into me, the pathetic look on his face, a face that's screaming "god you're an idiot". I turn away engage into a conversation with my friends again.
Hours past and I hadn't realized how much I've drank. I felt all fuzzy and my vision started to blur. My eyes start to close, and I fall asleep. Rafe pov: Pathetic. The way she instantly forgave him, how he Woo's her with his disgusting face and personality. She so stupid I don't get it; how could anyone be that stupid. After all that happened, I decided to stop drinking for the night, I was in a bad mood now. I look over to Rhia's friend group and see her passed out leaning on some random girl's shoulder. God how I wanted to take a picture just to haunt her with it for life. I knew I shouldn't though. I notice all her friends are drunk. I groan walking over to them. "Do you guys need a ride?" Everyone declines stating that they have a ride, or they weren't leaving yet. My eyes flicker down to Rhia, still asleep. I look around and see that Alayna and topper had already left. Weird. I shake Rhia violently and she wakes up, she looks up at me half asleep. "whattt" she moans and closes her eyes again. "Get the hell up Alayna and topper are gone and you're sleeping so let's go" I state now irritated. "Okay." she says softly and gets up, Im sure if she was fully awake, she would of made a snarky remark but thankfully shes tired. She starts walking along the beach, her head nodding and shes wobbling. "You're just gonna walk home? You're gonna pass out mid walk." I laugh, slightly raising my voice so she hears me. I start walking behind her, thats when i see her stop and slowly start falling forward. I react quickly and wrap my arm around her waist, i catch her then realize where im holding and i drop her. "oh shit whoops..." "asshole" rhia mumbles still laying in the sand. She stands up and stands beside me, i side eye her then keep walking towards her house. We FINALLY make it after 15 minutes, it took longer because rhia decided she had to pee half way there so she had to go behind a tree. Im gonna use that against her for the rest of her life. We finally arrive and rhia walks up to her door but i see her struggling to put in her house pin because shes still half asleep and drunk. I see her look back at me and i sigh walking to her door and putting her pin in. I've been to her house a few times. Only family matters though, usually its just my dad talking to her dad because they're friends i guess. "thanks" Rhia says in a stern tone. "mhm" i say back. she just stands there, "what? do i need to tuck you in too?" i laugh at her and see her face change to a annoyed expression. "Goodbye Rafe." she says before closing to door on me. "Rude." i say turning around and walking back to the kegger where my car's parked. I wonder why topper and Alayna just so happen to both be gone. I shrug and drive home.
