Convincing Parents---2

It is 3 days after the farewell party, The weather is quite pleasant the birds are singing .It is a beautiful Sunday Morning.

It is afternoon and Aakansha is sitting in her room scrolling through her e-mails suddenly one notification pops up which reads " Dear Ms. Malhotra, Congratulations on entering the Business school of  The University of Manchester with a scholarship of 80%, and the session for the same will be commencing from 1 August " after she read it she started shouting "Yeah Finally I got in" Her brothers comes in her room and asks her loudly "What happened monkey why are you shouting and jumping." She stops running and makes a stern face " First of all I am not a monkey and Second come with me to the dining room" She said  in a domineering tone They both Followed her like an obedient child.

In Dining Room

Aakansha asked Laxmi (Malhotra Family housekeeper) "Laxmi can you please ask everyone to come downstairs" Laxmi smiled "Sure but Chotti Madam (Young Mistress) ., Kaya Madam is not at home she has gone to an event" Aakansha smiles " No Problem just call others" after a while, everyone came down to dinning room.

Everyone is looking confused Aakansha's mom asks worriedly "What happened Princess , Laxmi told us that it's something urgent Are you fine?" Aakansha smiled widely " oh my darling Mumma , I am fine but there is a piece of good news that I want to share " Her mom became impatient asked " Ok! And what is it?" She finally unfolds the news "So here's the news... I was selected in the Business School of the University of Manchester (England) with an 80% scholarship."

Kabir became happy and hugged her "Really you made it Congratulations Aku" Her mom was so happy that tears of happiness came out and hugged her. Her uncle said " Finally you got what you wanted Congrats Sweetheart"  "Congrats Di (Sister)" Agastya said and hugged her. while she was receiving praise from others her dad was getting furious and " Stop with all these praises you are not going anywhere you are staying here in India ." Tears welled up in her eyes and she said "Dad it's my dream to study there" Her dad became red with anger and said "No ifs and buts, Am I clear and go back to your room this very moment" Aakansha ran back to her room crying

When Aakansha left only Kabir and the elders of the Malhotra Family are left behind. After a few minutes, Kabir receives a call and he excuses himself. The person on the call (in English ) "Hello am I talking to  Mr. Malhotra " To which Kabir replies " Yes, and you are?" The person on the call "Hi I am Alex and I am calling from the University of Manchester I am very pleased to tell you that you got selected for the university with a 75% Scholarship  and you have to join the University  from 1 August." Kabir is very happy now as he can help his sister out "Oh! That's good news thanks for informing me Alex " Alex replies "My Pleasure".

He explained the previous phone call to his dad to which Abhiraj also became happy. Abhijeet started to move towards his room Abhiraj stopped his brother "Bhai wait don't take the decisions too fast Kabir just received a call from the same university as Aku he also got selected there. If they both go together they will take care of each other after all they are cousins." Aakansha's father stops and replies "That's not a problem but I don't want Aku to go into the Western world" Kabir replies as a responsible & confident brother " Don't Worry, Bade Papa (Uncle) I know Aku very well She knows her principles and she will not do anything that would make our family embarrassed and of course I will take care of her." Aakansha's dad softens a bit and says "Hm! Fine I'll announce my decision at the dining table"

In Aakansha's Room

She has fallen asleep after continuous crying for the whole afternoon dry tears can be seen all over her face. her mother entered her room to check on her and kisses her forehead. Aakansha's Mom POV I will not let the same thing happen to you you will surely get what you want sweetheart. Aakansha's Mom POV End.

At Singhania Mansion

Singhania Family is enjoying their evening tea with some snacks and small talk in their garden.

Rajvir asked Aayansh " So Beta (Son), How was your farewell party" he smiles "It was good Dad but was a bit emotional at last" His mother felt the same " I can understand that feeling Ayu me and your dad have gone through this" His father replies while nodding " You are right Love, BTW Ayu any updates on college admission" Aayansh sighs and says "Not yet dad I have applied for some universities in England Just waiting for the results" Ruhika sees the tension on her brother's face and says " don't worry bhai (brother) I am damn sure that you will be selected in one of the best universities in England" He smiles at her and says "Thanks Ruhika ".

While the family was enjoying their evening snacks Aayansh's Phone started to ring  "Excuse Me" before leaving the table. Aayansh realizes that it's an international number Picks it up and says " Hello who is this?" The person on the call replies "Mr. Singhania I am Mark Lancester calling from the University Of Manchester I am very pleased to tell you that you have been selected by our university with a Financial aid of 80% and the session is starting from 1 August." Aayansh smiled " Oh! That's great news Thanks for informing me Mark" Mark replies "My Pleasure Mr. Singhania ".

After the call ends Aayansh decides to prank his family
and make his face sad and goes near their table his mother Gauri worriedly  asks "What is it, beta?". He decided to play along "Ma I didn't..." He was about to finish his mom said "Oh you didn't get to uni no problem you have applied to many you will surely get into one of them" He was not able to hold it any longer and he started laughing "Oh mom, of course, I got in and that too in the business school of University Of Manchester " When he said this Ruhika jumps and says "See I told ya," His dad said, " Now that's a call for a celebration". His mom says "For sure".

Ruhika clears her throat " Bro when are you planning to go shopping". Aayansh smiles happily and says "Maybe the day after tomorrow after my boards Why did you ask?" She replies in a coyishly tone " Because I thought if I can come along?" he replies cutely "Sure thing you can come along ,without you I can't even decide one piece of cloth ." They both laugh. He broke their laughter by saying " Dad I need your help" His dad nodded " What is it beta?" He replied "Can you Please help me with the paperwork " his dad said "Sure thing beta There is nothing to ask about mail me whatever you need i will ask my assistant to help you with it " Aayansh smiles and nods

It's already dinnertime

But the atmosphere is heavy in the Malhotra Mansion Aakansha is Awake in her room but is not willing to go down and see her dad Suddenly she hears a knock and she assumes it's Laxmi "Laxmi Aunty I won't be down for dinner" Then she heard Kabir from the other side "It's me Aku Can I come in?" Aakansha smiles "Of course" Kabir enters "Aku I think you should come down as uncle will be giving his decision" Aakansha smiled bitterly "What decision? He had already said no" Kabir chuckles "You underestimated my capabilities didn't you" She looks confused "Sorry what?" he smiles " I got into the same university as yours so your dad wants to reconsider his decision." She smiled  "Really I love you my cousin" and she hugged him
He chuckled " Now can we go down Ms. Malhotra"She nods

They go downstairs Aakansha and Kabir Quietly sit at the table with Agastya. Suddenly Abhijeet cleared his throat and said "Excuse me everyone as you all know what happened in the afternoon so as for my decision on the same I will allow Aku to go to England just because Kabir is accompanying her" Aku was so excited that she starts clapping "Really Thank you Papa " and by whispering she says "Thank you Kabir". Everyone at the table was happy to see her smile and laugh as she is the lifeline of this family and her dad's too but he never shows it. and often get misunderstood by her...
