Oh, my goodness! Kabir and I were late for our very first lecture of this year. When we realized we were late for the lecture, we hurriedly got up. "Ouch my head," Kabir said, rubbing his head as he banged it on the bed's headrest. That was tough. I'm sorry, Kabir, but I don't have time to console you. " Get up, Kabir. Don't be a kid. Get changed. I will go to the bathroom. You change in the room." I said it annoyingly and hurried towards the bathroom. "First, Aakansha used to rule over me. Now it's my roommate's turn." I heard him say it behind my back, but I didn't pay heed to it. I washed up and dressed as fast as I could. After we were both ready, we ran out of the room, as there was only half an hour left before the class began.
Before going to the lecture room, we dropped by the admin office to take our timetable for the semester. "Ms. Collette I am Aayansh Singhania. We are here to get our timetable," I said hurriedly. "Sure, but Mr. Sighnania and Mr. Malhotra, you have to hurry as you are already late for your first class," Ms. Collette said while giving us our timetable for the semester.
"Thank you, Ms. Collette," I replied as we quickly grabbed our timetables and rushed to the lecture room. As we entered the class, all the attention was on us, and the professor gave us a disapproving look for being late. We thought to sit down quietly, but the professor said, "Names?" We hesitantly told him our names, " Aayansh, sir," and Kabir followed suit and told his name. The professor said, "It's the very first lecture, and you guys are late." Shameless!" He gestured for us to take our seats at the back of the room.
Aakansha's POV
Those latecomers were my brother and Aayansh. My brother, the Great Kabir Malhotra, who never gets up late in the mornings, is late today. That's the first time I nudged Myra and whispered, "I can't believe Kabir is late on the very first day." Myra just rolled her eyes and replied, "Well, at least he's not alone in being late." "Yeah, he found his second partner in crime," I replied. I couldn't help but feel a sense of embarrassment as they made their way to the back of the room, drawing attention to themselves. It was not the best way to make a first impression on the professor. The first lecture was quite informative and engaging. During the Lecture, I was able to feel a constant stare of someone in the back of my head. I turned around to see a student with a curious expression, and I couldn't shake the feeling that they were watching me closely. It made me slightly uncomfortable, but I tried to focus on the lecture and ignore the distractions. As the lecture continued, I found myself getting more and more distracted by the student's gaze. Despite my best efforts to pay attention to the lecture, I couldn't shake the feeling of being under scrutiny. It was a relief when the class finally ended, and I could escape the intensity of the student's stare.
As the lecture ended, I heard someone calling me. I turned around and saw Kabir. "Myra, wait," he said. He came near me and said, "Myra, can we talk for a moment in private?" " No, there is nothing left to talk about." I replied, "My....." I showed him my hand and cut him off. " Please excuse me, Mr. Malhotra; I have a lecture to attend," and I Walked ahead Kabir looked hurt, but I couldn't bring myself to engage in a conversation that would only lead to more heartache. I walked away, feeling a mix of relief and sadness. I was about to reach the lecture hall when I saw Aakansha lost in her thoughts somewhere. I said, " Earth to Aakansha." She snapped out of her reverie and smiled at me. "Sorry, what were you saying?" I chuckled and replied, "Just making sure you're okay; you seem lost." She replied, "I'm fine; just thinking about something unimportant will tell you later ." I nodded, and we walked into the lecture hall together, finding our seats. The First day at University was about to end, After our last lecture for the day, me and Aakansha went to the canteen to grab some coffee and head back to our dorm for some rest.
When we reached the cafeteria, I was amazed by its interior. It was like a mini on-campus Starbucks with loads of coffee and snack options. While I was in awe, I heard Myra say, "It's amazing, right? I didn't know colleges also have a beautiful cafe." "I know, right?" I replied. " Okay, now enough of admiring this beautiful cafe. Tell me what you will have as my treat," Myra said. "And why so, Missy?" I replied, " Because I know that something happened in the first lecture that made you uncomfortable," and she replied, "Oh, that was nothing." Anyway, we will divide the money, okay, Miss Sinha," I replied. She chuckled and said, " That's more like it." "I will go and order what will you have? I said "I will have a Matcha Latte Please" She replied "Okay" I replied and walked towards the counter. I was in the queue when I heard someone saying "Hi Sweetie I am Alex and what is your name" his voice irked me and I royally ignored him and went towards the vacant counter ordered our drinks and quickly walked towards Myra.
