When we arrived back at school, we were two periods late. Figures.

This also meant I'd have to explain to my lovely language arts teacher why I had missed class. I use the word "lovely" with the most sarcasm I could ever put into one word. She's as hideous as a hippo with bright red lipstick. I glanced quite worriedly at my schedule, and quickly half-walked half-ran to the language arts classroom, where she stood, wearing a scowl that made her look meaner than she usually looked. That was no easy feat. When she heard me approaching, she turned her head and frowned.

"You-" she said, jabbing at me with her finger. I took a noticeable step back. "Why weren't you at class?" Now, I would have used my brilliant my-bottom-left-car-tire-broke excuse again, but the problem was, I'd already used it. So instead, I stood there looking absolutely stupid, trying to think of something legitimate to say.

"I-uh -I" I was about to give up and just tell her the truth when an extremely charismatic, charming voice began to speak, cutting my off. Gee thanks, Cade.

"Mrs. Turner," he said, side-stepping me so he was standing in directly in front of her. "You're hair sure does look beautiful today." I snorted back a laugh.

Wait-was she... blushing? I wanted to gag.

"Why thank you, Cade" she said. He grinned, looking back at me.

"As for Eve, she was eating the cafeteria food and started throwing up all of a sudden. Probably because of the pasta, looked a bit uncooked if you ask me," he mused to himself. I had to give it to him, he lied pretty dang smoothly. He looked at me and winked, causing the unwanted butterflies to start fluttering all over again. I glared back.

"Alright, you're dismissed," she said, waving her hand at the two of us. I shot her a smile and followed Cade, who was already sauntering his way through the crowd, down the corridor. When I was close enough to hearing range, I began to talk.

"Really?" I hissed in his ear. "It had to be me that was throwing up." He smirked.

"Couldn't resist, Camera Girl."

"Wait-" Lily said, dramatically holding out her hand. We were at her house along with Olive and Val, currently situated in her room. Bell was downstairs doing homework-I had brought her along, because she couldn't stay alone in the house by herself. Well, she could, but I wouldn't let her, cause I was afraid some creepy "You're telling me that you ditched class and went out on a date with Cade King." I rolled my eyes.

"For the hundredth time, Lily." I accentuated each word. "It. Wasn't. A. Date."

"But you know it was!" she said in a sing-song voice. I growled at her, causing Olive to laugh.

"You do the weirdest stuff, Eve. I mean, who the heck growls?" That made me laugh, too. We sat around for a few more minutes, when Val suddenly asked us a question.
