The Halloween Dance was a day away, and to say that I was nervous was an understatement. My plasm kept on sweating whenever I thought about it.
Lily, Val and Olive kept catching me gazing off into the distance.
"You're not yourself," Lily stated, concern evident on her face. "What's gotten into you?" I shrugged.
"The dance, obviously," Olive said. "She's nervous."
"It's going to be fine, Eve." I nodded.
"At least you guys will be there with me." Val smirked.
"Well, of course, we'll need to give you guys some alone time..." I smacked her in the head with my notebook. She giggled loudly, making the teacher scowl at her. She grinned sheepishly.
"Don't worry, it will be completely fine. We'll have so much fun." I nodded, hoping it would be true. I put my earbuds in and started blasting Drag Me Down by 1D. It was my new favorite song, and it helped calm down my nerves. (I actually love that song with all my heart.)
The past week has been super stressful, mainly because of everyone around me and the unwanted attention.
"Eve, right?" A blonde jock grinned lazily at me. I stiffened.
"Yeah." He took a step forward.
"You're going to the dance with Cade, right?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Um... yeah."
"I should've asked you out." I blushed.
"Um, I have to go." Before I could say anything, I pushed past him and practically ran to my locker.
During lunch, girls would stare at me like I was some specimen, making me cringe. It seemed like all eyes were on me, and I hated it.
By the time I got home, I was throughly exhausted. Bella greeted me with her usual high energy. I really didn't understand how she maintained it through the whole day.
"Eve!! Look what I made for you at school!" I glanced at the picture in her little hands. Elsa and Anna. She wasn't half bad at drawing.
"Thanks, kiddo," I said, giving her a tight hug. "I love it already." She beamed at me.
I was finishing making Bella's dinner of mac and cheese when my phone rang. Text alert. You have one unread message.
I entered my passcode. Cade King. My heart skipped a beat.
Hey
I nervously typed in a few letters.
Hi
He started typing something.
What are you doing right now?
I grinned.
Stalker much? :)
Just wondering. :)
Making Bella dinner.
Cool. I wanted to talk about the dance.
The dance?
What about it?
Just about picking you up.
I breathed in.
Oh, okay. What's the deal?
I'm gonna come around yours at six. Chill?
Yeah. Thanks for driving. :)
Anytime. ;)
KK, see you tomorrow.
So soon?
I giggled.
Yes, I need to go.
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
I couldn't stop myself from laughing.
I need to finish homework.
Lammeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I smiled.
Talk tomorrow. C ya.
Bye Eve. :)
I flipped my phone off, smile wide.
I was nervous about the dance, kinda.
But I kinda couldn't wait.
