Spending Some Time Together

THIRD POV

It was a Saturday morning. It was still early as the sun was just starting to rise.

Rei was sleeping soundly, feeling at peace. But meanwhile, kazuki was slowly waking up, a bit annoyed that he couldn't sleep for long due to Miri, who still needs to go to school.

Kazuki yawned, he saw the other male clinging to his arms then he tried getting up from his bed but this made rei stir in his sleep as he too, was starting to wake up.

"Where are you going?”rei asked, rubbing his eyes as he saw Kazuki who was putting some clothes on. “It's Saturday? Miri doesn't have school today right?"

"Well yeah, but they have some kind of trip to go to today. The bus leaves early so I have to send Miri to school early as well." Kazuki explained. Still feeling sleepy.

"Go sleep for now 'kay? I'll wake you up when breakfast is ready." Kazuki said, ruffling rei's soft hair.

Rei just simply hummed in response, going back to his sleep as the blonde went downstairs to prepare Miri her food and all the other things needed for the trip.

It was not long after when rei was shuffling around his bed, trying to find a spot to make himself comfortable as he was waiting for Kazuki to come back.

He sighed, feeling empty as the blondie wasn't laying down beside him.

'What's taking him so long to come back?' Rei thought as he couldn't take it anymore and went downstairs to see if kazuki was back from school.

He looked outside the window to see that it was raining hard. He facepalmed.

'Seriously? The sun was just shining so bright earlier and now it's raining? Guess I'll just wait for him' Rei thought as he sat down on the couch in the living room, turning on the tv to keep himself entertained while waiting for the other.

Time passed by and it was already 8:50, Kazuki left at 7:00. It was still raining heavily and rei started to feel more and more tired.

He was about to go back upstairs when he heard the door open.

"I'm home!" Kazuki yelled as he closed the wet umbrella, and headed to the living room. Not until he saw rei who looked very tired (even though he looks like that every day).

"Rei? What are you doing here? I thought you were still sleeping." Kazuki asked as he went over to the tired male.

"What took you so long? Something happened?" rei asked as he hugged the blonde. Burying His face into the other male's neck.

Kazuki who was surprised by this, he responded. "It unexpectedly rained when we got to the school so I had to buy us an umbrella as I didn't bring one today. But Miri keeps jumping at the puddles so i had to change her too but luckily we made it on time for the bus, but then when I was headed home there was unexpected traffic also." Kazuki ranted. Remembering the stressful events that happened earlier.

Rei only hummed in response, still hugging the blonde. Kazuki raised his eyebrow at his husband's sudden behaviour.

"You feeling alright there?" Kazuki said, wrapping his arms around the male's waist.

It was silent for a few seconds until Kazuki broke the silence. "Look rei I have to go make us breakfast, and I still have to clean the house so let's save the hugging for later alright?" Kazuki said, breaking the hug.

"Well... You can do that stuff later, for now, let's just sleep." rei spoke as he clings to the blonde's arms again.

"I would love to but when I finish doing these chores, then maybe we can okay?" Kazuki said as he pecked rei's lips.

Rei huffed as he had no choice but to agree, letting go of kazuki's arms.

Finally, after two hours, the blonde was done with cleaning the house as it looked spotless. Rei wondered if Kazuki wasn't here by now. Lord knows what'll happen to the house.

Kazuki was sitting on their bed and a laptop sitting on his lap, as he seems to be in distress.

Rei, who was laying down beside him noticed this. "What's wrong?."

Kazuki sighed, rubbing his temples before grabbing rei's hand, intertwining them together, trying to calm himself as he just now realized how much work they have to do after the weekend.

"Nothing, just work. As weeks go by, more work comes. Having Miri with us makes us more busier. Not that I'm complaining, I love having her and she's one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. I know kyu-chan sometimes takes care of her when we're busy with our jobs but sometimes I just..." Kazuki sighed, shaking his head as he closed the laptop, setting it aside for now. The blonde didn't want to say more cause it'll just get him more stressed out than he already is.

"You wanna know what I think kaz?" rei spoke, looking at their hands that were locked with each others, not realising the sudden nickname he gave the blonde.

Kazuki looked at him confusingly before the latter continued. "I think you need some rest. Sometimes you overwork yourself without even realizing it and it's very unhealthy."

"So for now just rest ok? I'll try to talk this out with kyutaro tomorrow." rei said as he looked at Kazuki, surprised that he saw the blonde crying.

"I- Did I say something wrong?" rei panicked as he sat up, trying to figure out what to do with the blonde's dramatic ass.

"Reiiii, I didn't know you cared about me this much" Kazuki cried. Rei sighed at the others' childish behaviour, relieved that he didn't say anything wrong.

"Seriously, I sometimes ask myself how did I end up marrying you?" Rei sighed feeling troubled. Kazuki smirked, knowing damn well why.

"Well of course, out of everyone, I'm the most charming of them all and also because you love me." Kazuki said confidently.

Rei rolled his eyes at kazuki's sassy behaviour. "Yeah yeah whatever, now can we please just spend the rest of the day with each other? Miri doesn't come back till tomorrow lunch anyway." rei spoke as kazuki agreed.

They both lay down on the bed. Rei being the little spoon as he buried his face into the blonde's chest, hugging him.

Kazuki nuzzled his face into the other's neck, wrapping his arms around the latter's waist. Feeling quite happy 'bout how the day turned out.

The room was silent. But not an awkward silence. More like a comfortable silence.

"Hey Rei?"

"Hm?"

"Thanks for today, I really needed it."

"...."

"Rei?"

" It's nothing.." rei spoke, feeling flustered as he felt his face heating up. Hugging Kazuki even tighter

They don't say “I love you” that much to each other but they both have different ways to express it. And this was exactly one of them.

A/N: Idk how to end this story and kinda bit rushed but it's literally 10 pm here but anyway.
