CHAPTER 1: JAMES

Chapter 1

JAMES

            In a cold and chilly evening in Dallas, the streets were empty and quiet, the owl made crazy noises, the houses in the neighbourhood were quiet as if the people living there took a vacation, a teenage boy named James Perkins sleeps soundly in his bed.  He turned around and around his bed as if something is bothering him.  He was dreaming about something strange that can change his life forever when this happens in real life.

            He dreamed he was walking in the forest with his friends Dianne Henderson, Venice Vieira, Nexel Lautner and May Sendak in the middle of the night.  Dianne and Venice were talking about sports while Nexel and May were holding some firewood, twigs and rocks.

            “I definitely love swimming especially during summer” Venice said.  “Shut up, Venice! I don’t love swimming.  I just only want to stare at the sky, watching the birds fly with eagerness, airplanes flying above the clouds and the sun shining bright like a diamonds.  So wonderful, isn’t it?” Dianne said.

            “Ah…. Ok… sure!

            After a few seconds of silence while walking, Nexel asked, “Guys, sorry to break the silence but I think we are lost”.

            All of them took around but they only saw big trees which cover the night sky.

            “You’re right Nexel.  We are lost at the middle of the forest” Dianne commented.

            Suddenly, a huge creature that came out from nowhere attacked them.

            The image suddenly became fuzzy but James can describe what is happening.  Nexel and May dropped the firewood, twigs and rocks as they run with fear towards the creature but they were too late.  The creature attacked them and May was thrown away behind the trees while Nexel fought the creature using the scattered twigs and rocks but it was no use.  The creature hit Nexel in the face and he was thrown away beside May.  They were both unconscious.

Dianne and Venice also attacked the creature using the twigs and rocks scattered on the floor but it was no use.  The creature hit them both in the face and they fell on the floor also unconscious.

            The creature came near to James.  James saw that the creature has a head of a bull on a body of a man.  James discovered that he can’t move so the creature attacked him easily.  He was thrown away near May and Nexel.

            Suddenly, another weird creature that came out from nowhere attacked the creature.  James was trying not to close his eyes so he saw what is happening.  He saw that the creature is a half goat and half man.  This creature was holding a bow and arrow which he used to fight the half bull and half man creature.  He released the arrow which hit the chest of the other creature.  The half bull and half man creature roared   loudly and it disintegrated to dust.

            Just when the half goat and half man creature helped them, James’ dream changed.

            James was sitting on a bench in Madison Square Garden at New York City.

            It was evening but the road was still of cars and people.

            Suddenly, a man sat next to him.

            He has a brown hairy skin with short curly beard in his face.  He wears an I Love NY T-shirt, a long military pants and a black cap.  He also has a walking stick and a black back pack.
