CHAPTER 2: Venice

Venice wished that James has not a “killjoy” because she was enjoying strawberry ice cream. But she felt something strange happening to James these past few days. Like something was bothering him.

After a while of walking and searching for James, they saw him sat on a nearby bench near the bus stop sign.

“Hey James” Venice called out as loudly as she could so that James can hear her. Nica, Dianne, Nexel and May rushed going to James.

“What’s your problem? Are you out of your mind? Do you know what you did in front of Sir Dick?" Dianne protested.

“Shhhh... can you please shout your big mouth?” Venice shouted.

May sat on the side next to James and asked “Is there a problem James?"

“Nothing, I’m just not interested to join that camping trip” James answered nervously.

          “What? Because of that you shouted in front of our favourite teacher, walked out and left us in that ice cream shop. Are you out of your mind?” Dianne protested.

“What a very nice excuse," Venice said, sitting on the other side of James with arms crossed “Tell us the truth.”

“Okay, you caught me,” James said “I have this little crazy dream...”

“What? We have no time for story telling!” Dianne protested

“Dianne, can you please shut your mouth and listen first.”

“Okay"  Dianne said crossing her arms

James told everything about his dream to his friends: the woods, the weird creature that attacked them, the ugly guy who talked to a talking foundation.

“That is totally unbelievable” Dianne commented

“And how’s that connected to our topic?” Nexel added.

     “You know, because my dream happened in the woods” James answered

          “It is not important anymore,” Venice interrupted “The one that is important is why did we have the same dream? When I was 9 yeears old, I also dreamed about the woods and the two weird creatures. I don’t know why it bothered me so much for about five years”

          “I think it means something important just like a warning” James told his friends.

          “I think it was only a coincidence that you have the same dream” Dianne added.

          Venice looked at his friends one by one she felt something strange will happen to all of them.  Something they would not expect to happen.

          “I think I need to go guys” Venice told his friends “But why? Let’s go home together because I am only two blocks away from your home. “Dianne said.

          “I will not go home. Venice said. “I’ll just meet someone”

          “Your boyfriend?” James asked suspiciously

        Venice sported a smile and left without saying a single word.

     Venice wished that James did not  brought up that topic  because it makes her really uncomfortable and scared she felt scared than she was when she was nine years old and she felt somehting peculiar will happen to her and to her friends.  She did not know why a strange silly dream bothered her and even his friend James so much.

          When she felt sad or uncomfortable, she always goes to her boyfriend named Roger Penn who is a half Asian and half American. She always felt safe and happy when they are together.
