"It's been a really really messed up week, seven days of torture, seven days of bitter."

Who is Lena?

Who was Lena? That seems to be the million dollar question?
Who did she think she was, to be taking us from our house in the middle of the day? Okay well, she didn't really take us. We did choose to go with her but still.
She led us outside to the backyard and went up to the fence. Then she did something that was way out. She started breaking it down. Running back and forth up and down the fence pushing boards around like a mad woman and finally stopped about two or three minutes later. She turned back to us and I was surprised to see that she wasn't even breaking a sweat.
"Okay, so we may have a minor problem. The entrance to the DS isn't working because it has been out of use for so long. It was supposed to open and we had to jump and tumble," She looked at us, "Nevermind. We will have to find another way in. The only other one I know abo-"
"Hold on Lena. What is the DS and where are you taking us? What's happening, what about our-" I was cut off.
"Like I said. I have a lot of explaining to do but we can't sit down and have a chat right now. We are not safe in the open like this. As I was saying before the only other entrance I know of is the one on-"
"Thirty-second street?" Max blurted out.
"Right the one on thirt-" She stopped "How did you know that?" She said narrowing her eyes.
"Well," he said sheepishly, "This one time I was eavesdropping on my parents trying to see what they were getting me for my birthday a few months back and they caught me, but not before saying something about an entrance not working and that some director should send someone out to fix it because now they have to go all the way to Thirty Second Street. Whatever that means."

"Oh yeah! I remember that!" I said. Because Max had only wanted to find out what his presents were, he was let off the hook, but if our parents had thought he had been meaning to eavesdrop then he would still be grounded. He got in really big trouble for that.
"Oh. Well then I am glad that you reminded because my memory is hopeless." She said as she smiled and walked back through the house.
Ten minutes later the three of us were walking down the street towards Thirty Second when out of nowhere these people in all black jumped out and tried to grab me. I stood frozen in fear as the people in black grabbed my arms, everything was blurry and unfocused. I looked at Max but it felt like I had just woken up from a nap. I was disoriented and scared. I could feel fear in my mind, I was cold and I could feel a overload on my senses. I felt like music had just been blasted into my ears. I looked around and Lena was fighting, and yelling. Looking right at me. The men around me had not let go and were starting to pull on me, dragging me with them. Lena was still yelling. I looked at Max. He was fighting too, his mouth was moving and he was staring at me too. I looked at my sides, these men were scary and strong. What was I doing? Why was I just standing here? Everything was coming back into focus, the sounds of the cars driving by, the yelling and grunting, the birds chirping from the trees. I could not let these strange men take me. I started to struggle against them, and I realized that Max and Lena were still yelling my name. They were yelling at me. Trying to get my attention. Max needed me. I struggled harder now, these men were going to take me away from him. We didn't even know where our parents were. I couldn't leave him alone, not with another person who we didn't know. I don't know where it came from but I stopped struggling, falling into the arms of the men dragging me like dead weight. They were being weighted down so again I started struggling. I was trying to confuse them and I knew they had to let me go at some point, they didn't have a good enough grip anymore. I fought hard, flailing and kicking and screaming. I grabbed someone's hair and pulled it hard to bring him towards me, and when he tried to double-over on to me I swung my foot up from behind and nailed the man between the legs. After that, he let go of me and was kneeling on the floor breathing hard. I then kicked him in the face. He wasn't getting up anytime soon. I turned around to find two other men facing me looking ready to attack and regain the grip they once had on me. I looked down at my skirt which was already being ruined. Behind them, I could hear others fighting and shouting. I hoped that Lena and Max were okay.

I felt like I could see and hear everything now.
The two men looked at each other as if to share a silent conversation and lunged at me. As they lunged at me I did the same and lunged at them going under their legs. They jumped about two feet behind me where they were groaning on the floor. One of the men jumped up and charged at me the other one following in suit. In seconds, I had them on the ground rolling in silent agony for the second time. I didn't know who was on my side today but it was sure a lucky day.

I looked over the men at a sight to be imagined. Lena was almost invisible because she was moving so fast. I saw that she obviously could handle herself, so I searched for Max. I caught a glimpse of Max judo-flipping this man over his shoulder and then punching him in the face. I knew he was good at fighting because he went to a boxing camp over the summer last year, but I didn't think that he could take on another three guys by himself. I ran over to help him. Just as he finished pushing another guy down. I jumped on the first guy while Max kicked the third guy. I pushed myself over the man's shoulders and pulled him down with me as I front flipped to land on my feet. Those few years of ballet were coming in handy today. From there Max took the liberty to kick the guy between the legs and then in the chest.
Because of all the adrenaline, I was aware of all the little details that were in my line of sight. I could see the rest of the other men now on the floor moaning or unconscious, that they had come out of the bushes so quickly they made gaping holes in the side, the men weren't wearing masks so I could see their many different colored skin and the tattoos that ran all along some of their arms. I saw Lena only as a mob of blonde hair before she appeared a few feet front of me trampling on some purple and yellow flowers that had fallen off the bushes the men had come out of. What a terrible waste of nature's finer things.
"Oh gosh you two are okay!" She exclaimed then looked around with wide eyes. "You two did this by yourselves?! I am impressed. I don't think I could have been this good when I just started training, and you haven't ever had training, have you?"
"What's training?" Max said.

"Well that settles that. Now let's get you to the DS." Lena said and hurried off in the direction of Thirty-Second Street.
Even though neither one of us knew what the DS was, we needed to find our parents and we both figured Lena knew where they were and what happened to our house. Maybe she would even have some answers about this 'training' thing she was talking about and an explanation for the way we fought those men. Then a thought struck me. What if those men were the good guys and Lena was working for the bad guys. Could she? I looked over at Max and through 'twin telepathy' that people talk about, I knew we were thinking the same thing. Miraculously enough Max was thinking anything in the first place.
I looked at Max and we silently agreed to follow Lena but keep our eyes open. With that, we quickly followed Lena down the street.
As we arrived at the corner we saw that we had finally gotten to Thirty-Second Street. Lena waved us over and we reluctantly followed her across the street. She entered a big building that most of the kids in town thought was abandoned. I guess it wasn't because when we entered, it was bustling with people. I didn't know that the building was so big. And I did not expect it to be so organized.
"Ahh! Director great to see you again, I have the new recruits of the Atkins Agents. And you must fix that fence elevator!" Lena said as she approached a short man with a fedora on. I thought that it was strange that he was wearing it inside but I ignored it as he approached Max and me, talking.

"I'll get right on that Ms. Vision." He waved a hand of dismissal and kept talking. Lena flinched and continued on with us. "Hello, my name is Shane Witherstone. I am the director of the DS. You can call me Witherstone or Director, I answer to both. Now I assume that you have a lot of questions so when you are ready Lena and I will answer any that we can. Just follow me." He grabbed Max's hand and shook it, then made a quick turn and pushed his way through the crowd of people. Lena followed him and waved for us to join her. I didn't think I had much of a choice in the matter so I quickly grabbed Max's hand and followed Lena. As we weaved in and out behind the backs of other people in suits, I struggled to follow the two adults.

They made a sharp turn into a room grey room and we followed. The door had two large triangles touching with a large D and an S in the center. The room looked like a simple meeting room. A bleak grey room with a table and lots of chairs and a big screen tv for whatever they do here at the 'DS'. I needed answers so I started. "Well, I believe I will start. What is the DS and what happened to my parents?"
