I've been going through a bit of a block lately. Decided to write something short and quick with the easiest characters for me to write. Featuring: Vague mentions of my headcanons.

Being the newest member of Recreyo, Christian didn't exactly know what was in store for him- even when it was his second time around now.

The chocolate factory scenario was fun. It was silly, and although Christian was initially put off by the... Oompa Loompa maker-machine thing, it was generally harmless and he was fine afterwards.

That's why when he strolled into Raptor Park, there was the expectation of him being completely fine. Sure, dinosaurs looked terrifying, but he trusted Ivan as their host.

Besides, it's not like they'd actually be... put into danger, right?

...

Christian's memories of the scenario became blurred during the climax. He had to refresh his memory by watching back the footage, but it only flared up the odd, creeping feeling in the back of his head. He wouldn't tell anyone, but he never once got over the sensation of his skin melting off.

"..-at Kristine- kills Kristine, and Christian- kills Christian!"

As soon as Curt announced the monster's attacks, the beast in front of the duo stomped on the girl and then swiped at Christian with his claws. Ivan's ghost loomed over them, frowning as he watched the pathetic display. Seth and Den gaped at the sight, stunned at the damage caused.

"I didn't like being alive anyway!" Ivan scowled, swirling around the scene with his arms crossed.

Christian managed to stifle his laugh, even while his floating body was overwhelmed by sudden numbness.

An audible whine took his attention though, and before he could make some clever quip, he looked over and saw the braids of Kristine levitating around her head. They almost covered her visage, and he felt a twist of concern. It was involuntary, of course, but her strange quietness gave him the nerve to float towards her.

She was slowly drifting away from the group, and so they had a decent amount of distance between themselves and the situation being played out.

"Damn, Den really should've healed us, huh?" Christian pointed out, arms dangling in front of him as he got closer to Kristine.

The girl seemed to have just noticed him, as she flinched at his voice. She pushed her hair out of her face, and she nodded with a halfhearted smile.

"Oh.. yeah, like seriously! Poor Seth's gotta deal with her now."

They both giggled, and Christian couldn't help but see the slight green tone enveloping her face.

"..Hey, do you need some water or somethin'? We can go off-camera for a sec'." Christian offered.

Kristine shook her head, "No.. I'm just.. uh, this is a little weird."

"What is?"

Kristine gestured to her noncorporeal form and Christian's mouth made a thin line as realization dawned on him. He had forgotten all about the ghostly stuff being so unnatural. Having died so often, the feeling was now second-nature to him. It wasn't pleasant by any means, but he could ignore it if he so chose.

But this was Kristine's second death, wasn't it? He winced at the thought, realizing how violent her death was this time, too.

"Oh... yeah, uh, I forgot about that... if it reassures you, the feeling of your body reforming is way better." Christian said.

Kristine nodded, "Uh.. yeah, I know. It happened last time, but... I'm still not looking forward to it."

Fiddling with her thumbs, Kristine almost looked embarassed, as though it were a trivial matter.

Christian saw how she avoided his eyes, and he was suddenly remembering his own violent deaths. How each time, he was growing more and more tolerant of his body being torn apart in numerous ways. How he felt less... human, everytime he returned truly "alive."

Nobody ever comforted him when he was more vulnerable to the feelings. He remembered hiding it all, masking his strained cries with laughter instead.

"It gets better overtime." Christian finally said, making her look up at him. He waved his hand around, body rotating casually in the air as he spoke. "But... you can always ditch these scenarios if you don't think you're up to this. Hell, call everything off if you want."

"I wouldn't want to do that..."

"Why?"

Kristine sighed, "I.. wanna commit to this and just get used to it. It should be that simple, right?"

She scratched her arm, shuddering at her own cold touch, and Christian found himself now looking away himself. There was a long pause, and he couldn't even fill it with the sound of his own heartbeat.

Instead, he only laughed.
