Heyyy, so I've written this over the course of a week? It's a bit awkwardly-paced, and I don't think I carried over my intent in this very well, but who cares! At least I'm done, lol. Hope you enjoy, regardless of my suffering when making this.

"I hear we're getting a new classmate today." Christian said, leaning back in his chair, legs propped up onto his desk. "A girl, I think?"
"I wonder what she'll be like." Den wondered aloud. She was doodling on her notebook, but then she paused and held the pages up. It showed a hastily-done stick figure with rounded wings and short hair. "Maybe like this!"
Curt snorted, rolling his eyes with his head laying on his desk, arms being used as pillows. "We're talking about a classmate, not some angel."
"Who knows, maybe she'll actually be one." Ivan shrugged. The other three looked at him blankly, and he raised a brow. "What? I'm just saying. It'd be cool to have an actually nice friend after hanging with you guys for so long."
"Pfft, whatever. You know you don't mean that." Christian replied, completely disregarding the only lightly-veiled complaint.
Before they could continue with the conversation, Ivan hesitated long enough for them to be interrupted by the teacher, Ms. B. As she began to do role-call, a girl slipped in through the door and in an almost timid manner, scoured the classroom.
The eccentric friend group, self dubbed as Recreyo— immediately took notice of her, scanning the newcomer and sizing her up.
She had long braids, and her school uniform was partly covered with a cardigan, flowers embroidered into the fabric to match the real ones decorating her hair.
The way she was already making herself stand out with a customized uniform seemed to pique Christian's interest. Most of the time, that wasn't a boldness students had until they were fully integrated with the school.
"She's got a cute style, doesn't she?" Christian murmured.
Curt looked over, not answering.
After the teacher finished role call, she gestured towards the braided girl. "This is Kristine. She just moved here, so I hope you all welcome her nicely."
"Hi, it's nice to meet everyone!" Kristine greeted. She turned to the teacher briefly, who pointed at an empty seat. Afterwards, Kristine marched on over to it and sat down.
The seat was in front of Curt.
He wrinkled his nose when she got into her new seat. There was a flowery scent that hung around her, not to say that it was surprising, but it was definitely prominent. Curt wondered if she doused herself in perfume everyday.
Then, when she whipped her head around- nearly hitting him with her braids had he not ducked down just in time- Curt got a closer look at her face.
Dark, chocolate eyes, and a thin smile. A smile that opened up and asked him the simplest question-
"Do you have a spare pencil? I can't find my pencil bag."
Curt would've laughed if she was his friend. How irresponsible could one be to lose something like that on their first day? Nevertheless, he said yes and bent down to take out one of his shorter, stubbier pencils from his backpack.
When he handed her the drawing utensil, she thanked him kindly.
(He can't help but acknowledge that he never got it back, though.)
