I've lived in this world for quite a while now and am surprisingly still not alone.
My name is Y/N, and yes, I still live with my parents. Not that I mind, but friends of mine are starting to try and tell me otherwise as we wanted to go out for a 'coffee' on a fresh spring afternoon. My friend Rachel was the one who picked me up, with another friend awaiting us downstairs. We talked for a bit before I got ready to go, so Rachel has always tried to get me to move in with her, so I'd finally be out of my parents' house. I told her more than enough that only because things had happened with my uncle in this exact house a way too long time ago, doesn't mean I have to hate it here. Of course, it is bad memories, but therapy helped everything out after many years. As a grown adult, I may allow myself to enjoy life, but now shouldn't I?
As Rachel and I just arrived downstairs, a tired-looking Lawrence awaited us. He held a red rose for each of us, which made our frowns from the little discussion we just had brightened up again. This made us not take each other take seriously anymore, which brought us to burst out laughing, making Rachel even cry with joy and leaving Lawrence confused, about what this is all about.
"Oh, my GOD! Lawrence, you're so ridiculous!" Rachel barely got out to tell him while still in this laughing state of hers
"My my.. you lads sure are something.." Lawrence replied with a gentle chuckle. I just got to notice more properly what he was wearing. A long beige coat with a black shirt under it and beige suit pants to everything. Sunglasses on a sunny day like this, of course, are not allowed to miss. So for Rachel, I've noticed too that she is dressed similarly to him. White heels, a short beige coat with a white blouse under it, exposing her chest a bit. Not to miss.. pinkish heart sunglasses on top of her head and net stockings.
"Guuuys, let's go so we can still order some cake or something in general! You know how Miss Sawyer is about her sweets and to when she only allows them, " I told the two as they gave a nod back to me. Each of us never understood why she was so strict about her baking times, but we never asked her ourselves and never mainly questioned it any further. As we decided to almost speed to the little cafe like a fictional superhero, what made us arrive luckily just in time, with cake already awaiting the each of us on our regular places. Miss Sawyer grinned at me as we came in and let a little wink slide what usually meant that today was on the house. We three knew her already since we were children, so we just can give a small grin back. It's always nice having a mother who knows someone like Miss Sawyer, and she knows exactly what luxury that is giving us, leaving that to childish scolding in the end. As long as I usually left something for Mother from the little things that were on the house, she was always there to appreciate the little gesture from Miss Sawyer without any complaining or scolding.
"Soooo Y/N.. ...found interest in someone yet, or does Auntie Rachel need to ship you with some hot men or maybe also women?.." Rachel whispered into my ear as if it was nothing. It made me choke on my f/d and cough everything out. I just swallowed wrong. Of course, Lawrence immediately caught attention to it and started hitting on my back as gentle as possible, but also so I could recover easily from this little accident.
"What the fuck Rachel?!! You know how I'm standing to that!"
"Riiiight! So you still haven-" before she could finish her silly sentence I smacked my hand on her mouth to keep her shut. She knows exactly that I've been unsure about my feelings for Lawrence and wanted some time and peace to figure it out for myself. Lawrence luckily had no clue what she was trying to deliver even tho it was VERY obvious. He gives each of us an innocent look, just like the one of a little puppy not knowing what the owner is telling it, but we didn't hang on it for that much longer.
"Do the lads need a second for themselves to discuss something I shouldn't know about? Or else I'd go for a little smoke"
I always hated that he smoked. The smell of it just made me gag every time I came in contact with it, but that's just the way he is and I never gave my opinion to it because it's his body and his choice after all. I told him it's alright for him to stay so I just don't have to have a bad-smelling Lawrence Lesser in front of me but that might just as well stay my little secret.
I mostly looked outside the window while we talked but sometimes I took the dare for some eye contact for the each of them. The thing tho is.. that after a while of us talking and me starring out the windows of the cafe, I took notice of a strange woman across the street. She was walking quite wobbly? It's as if she might be under drugs or whatever can bring someone into such a state. Rachel and Lawrence didn't take long to realize that something was up with me so they took a peak to the direction I had been starring for some time.
"Do you want me to go talk to her and ask if she is alright? I know that worried stare of yours, Y/N. If not we can always bring her home at any time" Lawrence requested to me which brought a bright shining smile to my face. This man knows me so well in so many situations, but luckily not in every one.. I immediately nodded in agreement that I indeed needed someone to look out after this stranger, even tho if it would be for just a second.
Little did I know, this would ruin my whole day.
